I would say in the situation you are in to go with the hunt that you like most august,september hunt. or the december hunt in which your chances of getting a trophy is tremendously greater. And or you can go with what weapon you like most bow or rifle. Good luck!

I started when I was 14 and in the peloncillo mountains with my dad. And I killed my first buck with a bow. And ever since I have been snagging deer every year.

I have heard great things about this round but have never shot one.

There can be WR bucks in any thick brush or tree infested areas you just got to get extremely lucky and be active in area to find him. I am working on hunting this monster I saw in jan. It would have probably scored 140 or so but it happens to be in thick acorn tree areas at about 7000 elevation impossible to glass up.
