Albacore were a staple of the so-cal fishery for many years. around 20 years ago, their number started to diminish and there haven’t been any decent alby numbers for over a decade. there is speculation that ocean conditions, etc. may bring their return to the waters around San Diego. hearing that more than one or two random ones showing up in counts could be a sign of the change. people like albys because it’s great table fare, and because it is not a finicky tuna, and once you find them, you can usually slay them.

IMO they are pretty much all the same. I would look at Seaforth because they have free parking. Looking at recent reports it looks like the PM trips on the New Seaforth are not crowded either.

Nope, just this one, it was intended to be a loaner/backup but I switching up a few other set ups so this one is an odd man out.

I was quoted about $150 -200 tops parts/labor per rod if I provided the blank, which I did. I’m having a speed jig rod made and a UC 76 Viper for my Mak 20. If I like the work I will probably have a UC 76 Raptor made for my Mak 15. Some of the guys I fish with out of the LA area told me they were paying $300-350 plus the blank cost for their speed jigging rods…CA is just spendy.

PHX Fishing Supply is pretty reasonable. When my CJX 6004 is done I will post a pic. You can totally fish the XXXH rod up to 100#…its perfect with 80#

If you are looking for a speed jigging rod get a UC CJX 6003 blank and have it acid wrapped. If you get different reel with more line capacity the 6004 is the next step up…but it is for heavier use cases than you described. If you want a good stick to fish 50-60# with 20# max drag on your Fathom you could also buy this from me:

Spf I have 500 rounds of Federal .45 auto Gold Medal Match 185gr FMJ-SWC. 150 rounds are in plastic MTM 50 round cases. Two pigs shot with this round had exit wounds that looked like 1.5” broadhead…it just doesn’t cycle well in my Glock 21. Was lights out in a 1911 I used to own. $SPF. Would trade for 1k rounds of 12 or 20 gauge 7.5 or 8 shot. Located in midtown Tucson but will be in downtown PHX briefly midday 7.21. Thanks for looking.
