Losing Our Public Lands
Siwash replied to rossislider's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Over the weekend RMEF sent out an email urging its members to contact Congressional leaders to oppose the transfer of Federal lands to states. The email referenced this link: http://www.rmef.org/NewsandMedia/PressRoom/NewsReleases/RMEFonPublicLandsTransfer.aspx -
I have a blue internal frame Trigon Cascade backpack for free to a good home. It has good straps for the shoulders/waist and is lightweight. One main compartment/zipper. Would guess it is around 1800cc capacity wise. It is stamped "M" and I'm 5'9/170 and used it a lot a decade ago as a fishing backpack, and I think it was originally used by my sister to take to Europe some 20 years ago, she is several inches shorter and weighs less than me, so would be a good pack for a kid to start backpacking and/or day trips for hunting, a tripod should fit in the main compartment with enough room for other stuff. I'm in central Tucson. Free to anyone who can use and will pick it up, it is not something I will ship.

5 speed or auto transmission?

PM sent on the Stony Points, also curious about if the bipods are the "S" models.

Maybe throwing it in the dryer under low heat for a bit will get it to poof out? Can't comment on the jacket but drop a few tennis balls in your dryer along with the jacket and run it on air dry/lowest heat setting and it will fluff out the down.

If you are a member of RMEF sign up for their email list, I got a coupon code to their store and got it for about $40 cheaper than anywhere else online over the summer. This was the first season I hunted with it, used it on a successful Coues and Elk hunt. As Lance notes above it can be a good meat hauler, just make sure every thing else you haul can go in the top brain/side compartments ahead of time if you need to pack out meat. Learning curve for me on a new pack...I took the head of my bull and nothing else after I took a spike the last day of the Dec. 22N hunt a few weeks ago, mostly because I didn't feel comfortable loading up the main compartment with boned out meat and letting everything else more or less "hang out" while busting through manzy on a gnarly slope. I'm probably also guilty of packing way more than I need on day hunts. Ended up taking an extra trip with my pack frame but I was alright with that. I'm sure over time I will really enjoy the pack and already appreciate the rifle scabbard and shoulder/waist adjustments.

Not interested in shipping but thanks for the offer. Without the head it probably weighs 1.5#

I have a used Sprint Mini II tripod (no head) I'd like to trade for a tripod (no head) that extends to at least 65" I just needed a dedicated tripod for a cabin balcony, this one is too short. Would be great for a kid and weighs next to nothing, here are specs: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/614703-REG/Slik_611_806_Sprint_Mini_II_GM.html I am in Tucson, but will be in PHX for over few days over Xmas holiday. I suppose if someone wants to buy it $40 would cover me getting a taller tripod. Thanks for looking.
