It's been a while, but last time I was at Bull Basin in Tucson they still had a few. You might give them a ring.

    Plant ID

Wish I would have taken a more detailed pic, but see attached for the 2-4' high scrub plant that is found thick intermixed with Manzanita south of the Mogollon Rim. It has light green leaves that are about 1x.5" with multiple sharp points. Noticed it most prominent on mesas and on ridge slopes, probably 5,500-6,500' in elevation. Anyone know what it's called?

That's actually it, thank you. Feel like a goofball as I have been in live oak before.

This picture makes it look nice and friendly, and it isn't, but I think you got it: http://www.nazflora.org/Ceanothus_greggii.htm Thanks, and I actually took a spike, my friend took the raghorn and I got to help him pack it out, antlers down, because it was so thick with cedars, manzy and everything else that I never would have made with them up, at least not without getting hung up every 5 feet.

Thanks, looked at both of those and believe it is something else, a few of the shrubs did have dried fruit that almost resembled blueberries.

What is your Go-To round for Elk?

I shoot 140 gr AB's with 53 grains of W760 in my Tikka T3 and it's sub-moa , but my rifle chrono'd at 2,985 fps. I use the set up for Coues but wouldn't hesitate to take that rifle elk hunting either.

What is your Go-To round for Elk?

I'll be taking a .300WSM shooting 165gr Nosler Accubond's over 62.5gr of IMR4350 in less than two weeks. I and other family members have also killed elk with a .308 and 150gr Barnes TSX handloads too.
  9. I have a Kelty camo hunting backpack for sale. I don't know exact capacity but it is at least 3,000 cubic inches of space, probably closer to 4,000 and has a removable "brain" that can double as a fanny pack, a blaze orange rain fly, an internal pouch for a h20 bladder, two large side pouches that could hold optics, and a hybrid internal aluminum frame for packing out heavy weight. It's well made with good zippers and has been used to pack out javelina, coues, and a friend even borrowed it on Kodiak grizzly hunt. $60 in Tucson

Check ebay I had a similar issue and found a nice one for $25. You might want to call Murphy's too, sometimes they have things like that lying around in the back of the shop.

    Loomis Casting Rod/ Daiwa Reel

Thanks Lv2Hnt. I've only fished out of it twice for 5-6 hours at a time and the leak wasn't an issue on the water so I haven't looked into it. Fairly sure it's an easy fix if someone is interested in it, and I think the price reflects the flaw as is.

    Loomis Casting Rod/ Daiwa Reel

I don't honestly know. The material/shell housing the bladders appears to be a heavy duty PVC, and the previous owner did replace both bladders and purchased them from AIRE.

    DOVE SEASON

There wasn't an epic flight where I was outside of Casa Grande but it was consistent and once my shooting settled down I had a limit plus a few collared doves by 8am. Saw no white wing. Spoke with a friend who hunted out of Maricopa and he said the flight was slow but he managed 8 birds, 6 of of them wingers and another friend southwest of Tucson said it was VERY slow but he did manage several white wing, no mourning dove.
  23. If you contact Slick Trick and mail them the blade they will probably send you new ones, if you are positive it wasn't something in the target. Their customer service is good.
  24. Agreed, are you sure you didn't lose an insert/another head in the target at an earlier time?
