140 grain Accubond. If you handload try it over H4831sc.

Congrats on your tag. The PSE Vendetta goes to 32" and has a 7" BH and the Evo 7 is also 7" BH and goes to 31" They are both very quiet. If you are in the market shoot a variety of bow brands and find out what is best for you.

Got hit for $228. I put a friend and cousin in for cow, and separately I put my pal and I in for trophy bull...I'm hoping to see $228 turn into $456 soon!

I have a very nice Longbow for sale. Bow is a lefty and is 66" in length and draw weight is 50# at 28" Limbs and tips are in excellent condition. This bow was made by Gene Barrick out of Phoenix. I bought it at Corner Archery many years ago. I always receive compliments on it from the trad. crowd but I am thinking about switching to a recurve for the times when I get the stick and string bug. These bows go for $400 new. I'm asking $225 for mine. I'm in Tucson but may be in the Valley in the next few weeks, or could arrange for a sale at the Rumble in the Rocks 3D next weekend.

Open to trades on a .22 rile or pistol or game cameras or surprise me. Really nice stick bow for someone.

I agree. Most of the canyons off the 260 have birds.
-
Just checked mine...no new or pending charges.

PSE used to have some Browning Micro Midas youth bows on closeout. You might also want to look at the PSE Chaos, its a pretty nice bow and is affordable even brand new...and you can upgrade the limbs for fairly cheap too as your child grows.

Stop by your local archery shop and have them help you figure out if the arrow spine is right for your draw weight on the recurve...traditional archery is a lot of fun but if your arrows aren't correct you will never get good flight.

Scores are up for last weekend's Cactus Classic 3D tournament at Usery. You can download the PDF on the Desert Archers website here: http://www.desertarchers.com/Scores.html

Last night some punk broke into the utility room off my carport (which has my reloading bench). If anyone hits pawn shops in Tucson please be on the lookout for a red tool chest of Craftsman tools (sockets/drivers, etc). Tool chest has Flowmaster, K&N, brunette Pin-Up girl, KYB, and Rancho stickers. They also took about 100 rounds of .270 handloads with Barnes TSX and Nosler Accubonds, 20 rounds of handload .243 with Berger VLDs, an open box of 90 grain Berger Target VLDs in 6mm, an open box of 140 grain Nosler ABs in 270, and an unopened box of Barnes TSX 165 grain .308. If the ammo pops up on Craigslist or Backpage please shoot me a PM...

I did file a police report and insurance claim and was planning on stopping by Kent's on Grant. I know they will work with you if you go talk to them about what was stolen. Also, I just remembered, the tool box has a big "Operation Game Thief" stick on the back.
-
No, they left a lot of brass, bullets, primers, my Redding dies, RCBS scale etc alone...just the loaded ammo and some boxes of projectiles. They also left a Dremel tool and portable radio/CD player. Who knows what goes on in the mind of a junky thief. It's a bummer...the .270 loads were itemized by charge/OACL. Hate to know some scumbag will use them for target practice on a junked out old car in Methville. I'm probably going to have to add a security door to my utility room as well.

Yea, so much for sighting in my new Zeiss scope on Saturday

Best choice for hunting/field sidearm
Siwash replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
On archery and rifle hunts I carry a 5 shot hammerless airweight .38. It's light, reliable and accurate enough with the handloads I developed for it. I guess if I was going to an area where I really expected trouble -like the west side of PHX - I'd take my 1911. If I could find a .22 MAG revolver that didn't cost an arm and a leg that would probably be my backcountry carry piece. -
If you are feeling the post season blues come join the Desert Archers for our first 3D shoot of 2012. This is a fun shoot with two 15 target courses. Courses open after 10am Saturday and close around 4:30 and open Sunday at daylight and close around 1pm. The shoot will take place at Tucson Mt. Park Archery Range. The club will also be selling 2012 annual passes to the county range for $25. Please see our website at desertarchers.com for more info.

I have a few things for sale after organizing my shed this morning: 1. Leupold Bases for Remington 700 matte (fits SA/LA) $12 2. Leupold High Rings matte finish $12 (or $20 for rings/bases together) 3. Slik Compact Tripod Head. It's light and comes with one release plate $40 4. Cabela's Dry Plus bootfoot breathable Waders Size 9 (think the boots size is 9-12, I wear 10.5-11 and they have plenty of room for me). No leaks $50 and they have seen fish blood from AZ to AK 5. Coleman Ram-X 17" Canoe with 2 paddles and seat backer. 660# capacity, can take up to a 5hp motor $225 All items are in Tucson but I would ship the tripod head or rings/bases.

Here is the exit wound from a 100 grain Slick Trick Magnum on the pig I killed yesterday. 40 yard shot broadside down a draw. My shot was a bit forward and I managed to miss all of her vitals. She ran up the opposite side of the draw about 30 yards and looked "funky." In about ten seconds she fell over and expired 5 minutes later.
