we went 1 for 2. it was a leftover Oct hunt. we spent probably 3 weekends scouting before we decided on an area we were going to hunt. tough hunt for sure. we were fortunate in that we ended up in an area that did not have much other hunting pressure but the low deer numbers made it discouraging. my buddy got a nice 3X3 mid-morning on opening day. good luck. not much time left between now and Oct 22nd.

where do you live? might need to think about if the gas $ will be worth it. more and more access problems in this unit. last area I hunted in that unit we were only seeing 5 - 6 deer a day. could be a tough or frustrating hunt or both. pretty frustrating to look on a map at an area only to show up confronted with a locked gate.

STUD buck for sure!! I will say 119" did anyone else notice his cape? at first I noticed it when he turned (on the right side of the bucks neck) at the very end of the second video but when I reviewed you can see it before he turns. it looks like it is on his face and on both his left side and right side of his neck. it does not really look like summer coat coming off plus I would think it would be a little soon for that. Thoughts?

5 inch eye guards are pretty long and uncommon to me. 14 inch mass is also on the upper end. I would drop an inch off from both of those and bump the main beam from 14 inches to 16 inches. frequently in bigger (100 inch) bucks, the second point will be equal or longer in length than the first point.

wow - I always thought people that said not to talk on the phone during a lightening storm were full of it. sorry to hear about the place. I'm sure it will be covered by insurance but not your deductible or any pictures you may have had on your computer.

you can always register on gunbroker and see completed auctions to see what those guns are selling for. always quite a bit difference between what they ask for them and what they actually get sold for.

did they get jr hunts or general hunts?

just remember, probably no matter how good of a scope you get, if you crank it up to 16X power in low light conditions there is not going to be enough light to see through it.
