hooked - you need to be a little more specific on this one. the draw odds for unguided non-residents were .7% (2 tags out of 283 applicants). the draw odds for guided non-residents were 25%. I am not sure but I think you can thank good ole' USO for that one.

better get out there and find the other one. as a set they would be worth some serious coin.

a friend of mine drew a sonoita muzzleloader antelope tag with 3 bogus points.

they are bogus points. a friend of mine drew his second antelope tag in 3 years last week. the hunt he drew only had 2 tags and he only had 3 points. as for me I had 15 elk points this year and still could not draw a early rifle elk tag.

yep - and then I pulled a Casey - after drilling the dog I turned and shot the darn beard off the turkey.

nada for me - took about 15 minutes to get through. congrats to all with success, especially the lucky dog of the day or should I say lucky rabbit of the day?

that's exactly what I was thinking - you could do some serious varmint control with one of those.

casey - hope you are not planning on converting the 7mm to a 257 because the conversion does not work on BDL models, only ADLs. Has something to do with the hinged floor plate. 7mm mag is a good cartridge and you can't get much better than a 700 BDL. let us know how it shoots. Chris.

a couple years ago while turkey hunting I dropped a dog in its tracks at 49 yards. I was shooting #4s through a mossberg 500 with a 30" full choke barrel. one and done baby - one and done. Casey - I am with CNS on this one and would recommend opening that choke up as much as possible if it adjustable and if not you might want to just cut the last inch or two off the barrel to open that pattern up some. good luck this weekend.

I find it interesting that the outfitter is using pictures of it on their website. what if anything is the outfitter potentially at risk of?

that buck reminds me of one of the bucks on the 'extreme coues' DVD. it also had a real palmated right mainbeam out beyond the G3. kind of like a moose. I think it was a 130" class buck also. nice find. congrats.

I also think the best pic should be awarded to the person who took the picture and not necessarily the hunter who killed the deer. also, I know this is a coues whitetail site but what about a "other" big game best picture. as long as the season falls in the same timeframe of the contest why not open the best pics up to antelope, elk, sheep, javelinas, etc.

I personally always thought that having 6 adult big buck winners was a little much. 1) Typical and 2) nontypical for 1) MX 2) US 3) archery. I would think 3 should be enough (MX, US, archery). you could take those other 3 prizes and create 3 new categories. I would vote for 1) best story 2) biggest first coues 3) best scenery photo. I enjoy seeing and viewing the few photo essays that are put together each year but doubt I would ever do one. I do take a few photos but when I am hunting, I am hunting. Most of the field pictures I have taken have been after I have taken a deer or when I have been out helping other people on their hunts. Just my 2 cents. So it has been recommended that I take a game carrier with me for my oryx hunt next month in NM. I was wondering if anybody in the Tucson area had one I could borrow? If not, no big deal I was just trying to save $100 bucks on an item I probably will never use again. Let me know and thanks. Chris.

one of the points made was LO allowing people to hunt their 'deeded land' does NM have the same 'land lock' problem that AZ does where there is a lot of public land that is not accessable because the land owners do not allow access through their deeded land to the public land? if so, what good does it do to offer tags on public land that the public can't get to?
