Awesome 👏 job on taking the kids out. I was there a week ago and did pretty good 😊. My boys caught one snake and one bluegill. I put the bobber on with chimney up, easier to rig it up. Lot of good fishing in Nelsons this year! I busted out the flyrod and caught 3 really fast. Everyone around us were a little frustrated because they weren't catching nothing.

I for one glad Truehunter posted this, brings up some good info for the hunt. You betcha the paying clients are going to get those primo spots, I wouldn't see it any other way. But if a DIY hunter beats a high paying client to a spot, the paying client better go elsewhere. Just because someone dumps a ton load of salt in a area does not make it theirs or gives them first rights to that spot. If I'm going down the road and see a note saying someone is sitting a blind, I'll turn around and go elsewhere.

Question: If I sit salt where this outfitter has been placing salt for the last 20 years, am I obligated to leave if asked by the outfitter if I was at this location first? HeII no!!! Question: Would you be pissed if you have been sitting salt and this outfitter told his client to go sit that same salt just on the other side and to shoot over you if something came in? HeII yes

I agree, maybe these roads need to be a closed during Buff hunts??? These are changes Game and Fish need to get with FS to improve on while hunts are going on. Road blockers aren't cool either!!!

Sounds like the guides way or the highway. I'm sure all the DYI guys that dont scout love the the guides way, go up use his equipment, tell you where the buffs might come in, gives you a blind location, radio, etc. yea that sounds great. Not my cup of tea. If I'm on the hunt I'll do what I want, if I find a spot where they are coming in, I'll be there first. If I'm the second then I leave to plan B. There's been so many times I have had to use pan B,C, and Z. Only person I'm pissed at is myself. But if someone tells me I can't hunt there, or is blocking roads, telling their clients to shoot over me, well they got another thing coming.

Yea if I'm not a paying client I don't want to be told where I can or can not hunt. Public land is fair chase, first come first serve.
