If you have done everything you can to fix the problem, torque like DB said, looked it over, make sure scope is ok etc. send it back to Remington, they will most likely send a new rifle or fix the problem.

I bought one new around Christmas for $99.99. I would say $80 used is a fair deal. But not on sale, and I saw the price did go up on them recently to $150.

    Will turkeys still be hot?

Don't get me wrong, the beginning of the hunt is really good as well because they are all going crazy. Lots of the smaller birds will be shot in the beginning hunts, we shot long beards this year but they were only about 2-3 year birds. There are some real big boys out there! These big boys are generally with the hens because they have already fought off the smaller jakes and Toms. The hens will allow the Tom to service them multiple times, and he is always looking for some action. So when the hens start laying eggs and sitting on them, it leaves that Tom all alone in the afternoon 12-4pm, which can be prime time to call that lonely Tom in. I'm not an expert, but enjoys Turkey hunting a lot. But yes I think the younger birds become quiet as the hunt continues, but those Big Toms can be easily called in.

IMO the gobblers with the hens are easier to call later in the hunt!!!! I like the later hunt, because all those hens start laying eggs and peal away from the flock in the middle of the day. That Gobbler becomes very lonely and when he hears a hen call he will come a running in wanting to "service" them, :-)!
