Tikka T3 lite 7mm 168 or 180 VLD's
Couzer replied to Couzer's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Thanks mklong, I will have to give those a try. I have a lot of reloader 22 and 215m primers. Thanks for all your load info and your time. I have heard nothing but good from the paritions. -
Hello- I have a reloading question for you all reloading guru's? My brother just picked up a Tikka T3 7mm. Here in the next month I am going to start loading for him. I realize that all rifles are different in what they like but just need a good starting point. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share thier load info for this rifle. I would prefer that it is for the Tikka T3 7mm if anyone out there is using the Berger 168's or 180's VLD's bullets. Couple questions would be; What kind of groups are you getting with it out to a 100, 200, or 300 yards? Are you able to set your bullet to lands? if so at what distance? .10 .15? (I will check this later on my rifle) What primers are you using? What powder are you using? what charge? Are you weighing the brass? and type of brass? What kind of of prep work are you doing to the cases? Chamfering, primer pockets, flash holes, necks....and so forth? Thanks guys! It might be a long shot but I thought I would check.

They work really well if your scope has the adjustment in the moa. I asked 308nut about one a while back and he explained it pretty well. I ended up picking one up for my Rem 700 LA and now I am thinking about going to a 40 moa now because I think I have the adjustment. I basically cants your scope down so for farther shots you can turn your turret up for more adjustment. Im sure others will chime on this topic for more insight!

300 whisper is deadly quiet with a silencer and probably sounds like a .22lr with out it beacause its not breaking the sound barrier! I want one
-
Right on! Nice job!

If I'm not mistaken, the 300 whisper is a quiet subsonic round with the heavier bullet. Only good up to a couple hundred yards when loading the 200 plus grn bullets. If you want to go with a AR bases gun in a bigger caliber I would not do the 300 whisper (IMO) but turn to a company called dtech. I am actually in the process of having a 25 caliber built in a AR15 platform. I know he has done a 7mm and a 300 cartridge that do great. Check Mike out before you decide on a Whisper, here is his link: http://www.dtechsuperstore.com/

What is Outdoorsman and where to I find them? I like doing business with Sportsman's Warehouse, but I don't think they carry Talley. I assume they are reputable; could someone post their link? Does anyone know of any Talley dealers in the East/Southeast Valley? The only dealer I can find on Talley's website is in Scottsdale. http://www.outdoorsmans.com/ 10004 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85020 602-944-7121 | 1-800-291-8065 I have spent lots of pesos with these guys! They are great to deal with. Its a small shop but they deal wit all the high end hunting equipment. I think if you call talley and tell them what scope and rifle you have they can tell you the exact part number you need for your setup.
