+1 Hands down a great rifle! I have been shooting one for about 8 years. I have a good load for the stock rifle that shoots great. There is about ten of us that all shoot the same load. Just Pm me and I can get the load info for you. Pros- Shoots far, accurate, lots of knock down power. Cons- loud, lots of recoil, expensive to buy factory rounds (not bad to reload -
Wow man that is freakin crazy! Did you try calling for the lion? Hope you were armed and ready! Pretty cool!

Wow thats a cool dead head you found!

I would go with Desertbulls post. Also depends on your prescouting, are you seeing lots of big bulls? If no then you know your chances could be slim.

Yes they are the same in preciseness! (hope that is a word) These pictures represent a zeiss scope with target turrets and hunting turrets I posted 2 pics of the same scope with hunting turrets (ones with the caps) I do not know why zeiss list there scopes with "hunting turret", Im guessing just marketing. If anyone know something different they can enlighten us. I called zeiss and ordered a hunting turret but wanted the target turret style. So I returned it for the target turret, my fault! On both of these scopes as far as I know YOU CAN ORDER a custom aftermarket turret.
-
the hunting turret is not really a turret, just the cap over elevation and left to right adjustment. the target turret actually has a turret to where you can turn it,,, no cap.

+2 Nichols in Holbrook did some work on my old 300 RUM, he's a nice guy and does excellent work! I have a Model seven Im taking up to him to rebarrel when I get back in the area. Whitecloud gunsmithing as well is excellent, He put a muzzle break on a one of my rifles. I have a friend of mine Gilbert that is putting on muzzle brakes for around $140.00. That includes a brake and labor. He has a everthing in his garage and has done alot work and brakes. Just works from word of mouth.

A friend of mine that bought a barrel from Gary Schneider in payson and it has been the worst experince ever. But I have also heard he does have a great barrel. We have a another friend that had a rifle built from Schneider and it shoots awesome. I was disapointed in how he treated my friend that bought the barrel from him. I delt with Karren Hart at Hart barrels and she was more than helpful with my rifle.

Nothing for me! A friend of mine was up in a different unit and was stopped by a Game warden that didn't even know Bear was open in his unit. I guess he had to make to make a call to his office to make sure. Pretty funny! Kidso how did you do?

I know cabelas has a 3-9 power pro staff nikon for $99.99 that i wouldnt think twice for a 30-06. Good quality scope. Call before you go down there because they sell fast when they come in. The orginal price was around 150 but has been at 99 for a few months. Great warranty as well and durable construction. They get them in alot for that price!!!
