  1. I went down this morning and arrived at AZGF Mesa office at 7:45 am! People started showing up just after, must of been over 30-40 people!!!! I was 2nd in line! Picked up my Kiabad Turkey tag, lion tag, bear tag, and archery deer tag for 2011!!! Glad I beat the crowd because it looked like the tags were going fast!!!
  2. Dane man you know where I was camped to? Are you one of those scouts that sit really high on the point looking for border patrol? ha ha jk You weren't messing around with flashlights that thursday night Yeah it was nice buck and hope it gets bigger next year if it doesn't get killed! Did you have a tag as well? If so how did you guys do?
  3. I just wanted to say a BIG thanks to John AKA "hammy" for helping me out on this hunt! I scouted 36A pretty hard 2 weekends before the hunt and saw over 40 mule deer does and about 6 mule deer bucks,,,,, not seeing a single whitetail! It was pretty hard to get motivated. I talked with Hammy and he gave me a few pointers about the unit! Opening day I eneded up seeing 23 whitetail does, 2 WT bucks, and 0 mule deer all in the same area I was souting in. The 2 bucks where traveling together, one about 60" and the other about 85-95". Trying to judge them from 1.5 miles away through my Swaros was tough, but they had one thing that I was looking for, "antlers". I busted down the moutain to my truck, and drove it around the mountain to decrease my distance between the 2 bucks. I was busted by a few does and never saw the bucks again that day. The next morning I hiked up to the area they were in, within a 100 yards, I stood patiently and this little 56" buck came out behind a bush at 80 yards. End of story! Just glad to harvest a buck this year and thanks again to Hammy! I also had some illegals come through camp flashing their flashlight on my tent at 9pm day before the hunt started. Long story short, called 911, got the sherriff who transfered me to BP, then BP transfered me back to the sherriff, then transfered me back to the call center for BP, who then transfered me to the sherriff who said BP was coming out when I gave them My GPS cordinates the first time. Bp did not show up so I called them back and talked them into coming out. Never showed up!! Oh well looks like the illegals were just passing through and did not cause any problems.
  4. Thanks guys! And yes there was a bigger buck in there with them. My bro in law and father in law combed the flats down towards are vehicle they said they saw something running fast away from them. Said they couldn't put antlers on it! This was their first hunt and they did a great job hiking around with me. Not sure if they will hunt again with me though, it was tough, but thats hunting. I had a blast. We saw some of the sonoran antelope down there to in with all the deer.
  5. Wow! Holy smokes thats a freakin nice deer! Congrats on the hunt!!!

    7mm-08 Model Seven

Posting this for a friend. Please call him at the number below for all questions. Kyle @ 480-586-1985 Location Gilbert Remington Model Seven $550.00 Stainless Synthetic Stock with 1” rings and bases. Has stock work done, glass bedded, floated the barrel. “done by previous owner” SCOPE AND SLING NOT INCLUDED!!! He took this gun on trade 2 weeks ago and decided that he probably will not use it. Kyle does all his own reloading, so the group size is from hand loads. Basically had some extra 7mm-08 brass and 7mm bullets and took it out shooting for the first time. Looks like the gun is a shooter, each square is a half inch on the target. An ok group @ 100 yards with only testing one load on it. $550.00

  10. The one in the pic with the rifle is a brunton made by manfrotto, it is a beast weighing in at 7 pounds 12 ounces. If you are looking for a nice light weight tripod, I really like that SLIK AMT, made by SLIK, it weighs about 3 pounds 9 ounces and is about 62" inches high. It is the smaller one that is in the pic below
  11. Thanks Payson Outfiters! Just tried out the new triclawps and love it! The material it's made out of is sturdy and perfect!!! It actually gives a little so it clamps on to the rifle for a snug fit!!! 100 bucks , ita a great deal!!! Pic of a Kimber 257 Rob w/ zeiss 4.5-14 power scope

    Lion spotted in Gilbert???

Talking with my brother over in Trilogy said the cops where out looking for a good size lion spotted traveling down the wash by the golf coures. Said there was a news letter sent out to the home owners near the sighting giving caution. Anybody else here of anything? Update: Three Gilbert residents have reported seeing a mountain lion four times in a local neighborhood since the end of May. The sightings began early May 31 in Gilbert's Trilogy Community, when the mountain lion was reportedly found in a backyard near Queen Creek and Recker Roads, according to a statement from Gilbert police. Another sighting was reported on June 3, when a resident told officials the animal was walking through the neighborhood near where it was last seen. The final two reports came Monday, when the mountain lion was apparently seen in a backyard near 4600 E. Blue Spruce, then later running toward a green belt across from the backyard, the statement said. Gilbert police have not received any reports of aggression from the animal. Officials have responded to the calls, but have not yet found the mountain lion. Anyone who sees it in a populated area is being asked to call 911.
