If it's a maintained dirt road then it would be considered road hunting if you didn't step off the road. I personally would not shoot that buck with a 13b tag.

Look up Chads guide service on Facebook. I believe his clients accounted for 6 of 7 shot over 200".

I am selling a 2008 Polaris Ranger 700xp with 6700 miles on it. I am the original owner and It's been serviced and maintained on schedule. Comes with an overhead radio/cd player, rear seat, roof, 3point harnesses throughout, 2" lift kit, rear cooler rack, spare tire. Anything I suppose is possible. I never encountered a big buck standing off the road personally. I believe 13b is 50-60 miles wide by 90-110 miles long. A DIY guy will spend almost as much as it would cost to hire an outfitter. In one weekend alone we ate up a set of tires.It all sounds good now but the reality is once you actually draw you have to decide how your going to do the hunt. I had guys prior to my hunt last year telling me they would help and when it came down to it most of them went quiet.

Good luck in the draw. Another fact to toss around. All the archery bucks killed over 200" last year had some type of guiding involved. I paid for a scouting package but never had any guides in my camp. Not (1) DIY guy killed a 200"+

I hunted 13b last year and was fortunate to take an archery buck well over 200". I shot my buck off water and I had a camera on the waterhole leading up to the hunt and he was never on camera. We did see him hanging in the area while glassing. Here are the facts on the strip archery last year. There was 6 bucks taken in B over 200" during the archery hunt and (1) buck in 13a archery over 200". That's a combined (50) total tags between the two units. My point is it is not EASY to kill a giant up there. Weather, monsoons will play a big part on sitting water etc.

I've hunted 5bs quit a bit and every time I've hunted it I've run across Wards guides. I have never seen A3 on a hunt. Wards clients have killed some great bulls in there. You probably can't go wrong with either choice.

I will say this..if you draw an archery goat tag in 10 and you don't pay the fee or you try and get on and its full you are screwed. I hunted it last year and yes there are goats outside the ranch but there few and far between compared to whats on the BO. There also more pressured as every Tom, Dick, and Harry with a tag is looking at everything outside the ranch as the ranch doesn't open for scouting until a few weeks before the opener. Im not saying you cant kill a goat outside the BO im saying the odds are tougher. I believe the Babbit and Espee ranch are still free to hunt but the population of goats don't match the BO. The archery success will drop in 10 just my 02.

I know of (2) big bucks that came out of 42 on the general hunt. One was a 170-180" 3x4 and the other was a 5x6. I helped a jr hunter Friday get his 1st buck (3x3) in 42. He made a 485yd shot. His buck was the only one killed in the camp as of yesterday. Buglethemin you should have an excellent hunt.
