It was a great shoot even though we shot in the rain today..thanks to dallas and all who were involved for the shoot.

We all need to remember that the aba is for all of us who bowhunt or shoot 3d. Dallas i agree with you that you cant make everyone happy and that you guys do your best to make the shoots as fun and safe as possible. For those of you who think they can make or suggest better things in the archery world you need to go to an ABA meeting and voice your opinion. I have spoken to stoney and he has more than once encouraged the public to attend and get involved with the aba. You cant make a difference unles you try..

Guess the Score Contest - Jan 2010

My guess is 131"! -
5. An arrow embedded in the horn of an animal, not touching body color, is considered a miss and is scored as a zero. Targets with legs or hooves of a different color than the main body will still be considered as body color for scoring. Does this mean a hoof is scored a 5? In the past it has been scored a zero?

Better optics and better technology with scopes and bows..

I was told by the tournament director (stoney amerines) that this is not a qualifier for the nationals and not an ibo sanction event. You will not have to be an ibo member to attend or shoot the shoots. I was also told that the IBO rules are being used to put everybody on the same playin field as far as 5 grains per bow weight which in return should keep the speeds all about the same. The ibo rules should make more guys want to shoot because speed should not be a factor as in the past so judging yardage becomes the key..

I have personally killed both mule deer and coues deer with a bow and i would say coues deer are easier to kill than a mule deer buck. I have found coues deer to be easily patterned and i have found mule deer to be roamers with a wider area that they live in. I also agree that the coues deer is taken over and that a good mule deer buck is getting harder to find. There are definetly more 100" coues bucks hitting the dirt than 180" plus mule deer..

I have spent many years hunting coues in 6a and i can tell you it can be a dissapointing hunt if you are not looking in the right areas but on the other hand it also can be rewarding. I have taken two coues out of there with a bow with my best being 82" this august. Most guys will be hunting down low off 260 i personally like to hunt higher around happy jack were most people dont think to hunt coues...

I had been loyal to a fix broadhead for years and a friend turned me on to a broadhead formely known as a sonoran which is now called the swhacker. I have always been against a mechanical but after testing it out i was impressed with its duability and how well it grouped out to 100. I am 13 for 13 in kills with this broadhead and i have never lost an animal yet. I shoot the 2 blade 100gr and its a 1" cutting diameter closed and 1 3/4" open..>>----d.a.----->
