Sux to hear that. I've had 5 cams and 1 treestand stolen in 6a over the last few years. 2 years ago I had (2) treestands and (2) cameras stolen in 5bs. One day I will catch someone stealing my stuff.

Great bull! Hats off to everyone who was involved. Why do guys care what it scores? Maybe the hunter was happy with the look of the bull and it wasn't so much about score. Giant bull regardless.

I was at Joes hill this evening and the fire burned all of joes hill and Perry mesa. I would look elsewhere..areas I would look would be seven springs, Bartlett lake rd. Good luck.

IMO a scouting package is worth it. Me and my bro did a scouting package on our archery hunt and it paid off. Without a scouting package we would of had to make multiple scouting trips up there to get familiar with a unit that we had not stepped foot in. We used Chad Woodruff with Mossback Az and he was a great guy to work with. We made one trip up there and met him and spent a weekend checking cams with him and he dialed us right in. Was a scouting package worth it? You tell me.

The average buck killed on that hunt is 130-140". Having said that if a guy does his homework a guy could kill a 170"+.

I've hunted it the last 3 out of 5 years on the archery hunt. I killed a 140" buck last year out of a tree stand. Fairly easy to shoot a small buck from road hunting. Bigger bucks will be up top by the towers. I've found that if u wait towards the last week the bigger bucks up high will be pushed down in easier country to hunt. Good luck!

Jerry,Get ahold of Hunter Smith w/ Broadhead Outfitters..his client killed a 370" bull last year in 21 on the archery hunt. I had that tag last year and was fortunate to take a great bull DIY. Good luck! Post a pic of the bull you killed in there...Here is my bull from last year.

IMO it's a week too early. Every Tom we saw was solo. We had a difficult time calling them in aswell. We killed ours sitting water.

My boy was fortunate to take a gobbler on opening day in 6a. I was at the 6a camp and as of yesterday I believe 6 birds were brought in. Shout out to all the people who were involved with the camp..it was a great time with great food.

It really does depend on the unit your hunting. Last year I had a tag and I logged in over 30 days in the field scouting. I had found my target bull 3 days before the opener and I sat on him dark to dark watching his every move. On opening day the stalk didn't work out and we continued watching him till dark. On day 2 I moved in on him and busted him. My buddies were able to keep glass on him and I stayed up on the mountain the whole day under a tree 200 yds away from him while he was bedded. It was the longest day in the field I can remember. I stayed there until he got up for the evening and I was able to move in on him and get him down. Typically I would chase bugles in the morning running and gunning to get in front of them and sit water in the evenings. The best advice I can give you is know your equipment and practice, practice practice.

I'm looking for 7mag brass. Needs to be Remington.

I've killed multiple bulls over the years in 5bs. IMO one of those units that holds a ton elk in just about every part of the unit. Expect alot of 250"-300" type bulls and a few that will go 340"+. Long lake, soldier annex etc are all great areas to scout.

It's a loophole alot of guys are using to draw back to back tags. From what I've heard you can turn your tag back in a day before the hunt opens. I'm sure guys wait till the end so it's less tags in the field.
-
I already know of a few guys using it. One guy put in early rifle bull then archery and got his 2nd choice so he is turning it back in.
-
Guys it's simply achieved by putting down the same unit choice for your first 4 choices then a different unit on your 5th choice. The computer will recognize your 5th choice as your 2nd. I thought everyone knew that trick. Did I mention I drew my 3rd bull tag in a row?
-
I've drawn the last two years straight and possibly again this year for archery early bull. (Waiting to see if it's my bull tag or son's) If it's mine it will be 3 years in a row and if it's his it will be 2 years in a row. It's really all luck until u get to max points.

I put in for deer, elk and goat...hopefully I get a tag. I went all premier units.
