Good Luck Chris! Holler if you guys stop for lunch or something in Yuma.
-
I can't suggest an outfitter but would like to wish you Congratulations!
-
I want to wish everybody who applied for sheep the best of luck or fulfillment of destiny, whichever theory you believe in! You CAN get drawn. I'm living proof. Rocky or desert, Nelsoni or Mexicana, boxy or flaring, red or yellow, big or small, them sheep horns get in your blood!

There are pics of him on this site. Let me see if I can find it again. I probably have pics of him somewhere on my computer at home or in my email but not positive.

I tried to send you a PM but you are filled up! Have some scoop you may or may not have heard already about 41W. Let me know... That coues tag don't need to go in the can, but that would be a good time to use Point Guard if you got it.

There you go! Congratulations!!! You know there are like 3 different 40B hunts?, LOL...I can share some pics of Gilas and Tinajas rams if its one of those.

Cool man, congratulations!

Don't know much about the Constitution or the crew but I can say that 2 full days and night hours for fishing should give you a legit crack at a bluefin. They have planes as Lee mentioned and code groups on the radio where they all share spots and whatever. If there are any bluefin biting within 200 miles of San Diego your boat will know about it. Like Richard alludes to a lot depends on the anglers and their gear when you are talking about fish this size, no harnesses, no boat backing down on the fish, just the rod & reel, the rail, and angler to get the fish on board. That takes skill, patience, and good luck!

Very nice all around! Congratulations on your success and a beautiful trophy.

I've been eyeballing pretty much same rig, Okuma PCH 741 xxh and the Penn Fathom 40NLD2. Good to go for 60 or 80#. Maybe not for the 300# cows at the Rocks or the Lupe but should give a fighting chance at a local bluefin. You can also always rent a 60# or 80# 2 speed rig at the Landing.

Its fishing; there are no guarantees! One thing for sure is you can't catch em if you don't go. Have at it!

If you had one brand choice for AZ camo set ( pants+ shirt) which would you pick?
Heat replied to Gut Pile's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I actually prefer solids in drab colors over camo but I do still buy some camo. For tops I like First Lite, but their pants are weird. For Pants I like Kuiu for fit, cut, and lay out of pockets. Best material and pattern is Cabelas Outfitter in Microtex. I have a bunch of that stuff and I still really like the material over any other so far. Can't beat its durability, light weight, wicking capability and comfort. -
Let the Tin Man have his fun! LOL! Honestly, sounds like my life story. Good stuff. God Bless Brother!

Don't bring just one or two rod and reel set-ups. Be ready for whatever. I would recommend a 25/30# rig, a 40# rig, and a 60# rig at a minimum, maybe even an 80# set up. Be sure that big one is a 2 speed! Be sure you have fresh line! Don't let that be the difference in your bucket list fish coming over the rail or not. There have been some huge models ripping people a new one. There is also a lot of yellowtail and now yellowfin tuna starting to show in the mix. Again, be ready for whatever the ocean gives you! Have Fun and Good Luck!

49 for Bison. Bison draw works the same as Sheep. There are TWO residents with 28 bonus points for javelina. WTF are they waiting for?
-
Depends on the unit. There is a max you can have (22) but the number changes from hunt number to hunt number. 20% of the tags are issued to hunters with the most points that apply for each of the hunts. In other words for some hunts there will be nobody that applies with 22 points yet 20% of the tags are still set aside for the guys who apply with bonus points. You probably need 22 to get in the max on the Strip. It's different for sheep and bison though.

I am a bowhunter primarily, but also shot mine with an old -06. Congrats on your success!

Weird. I would have thought the Cabeza Prieta would have been numero uno on the list to expand opportunity.

This not a Heber or Forest issue. Feral equines are a Statewide and National issue. Burros everywhere too. Unfortunately nobody with any authority has the fortitude or persistence to fix the problem. Game and Fish, BLM, Forest Service, USFWS, National Parks, and the DOD are all responsible!

The camera in and of itself is one thing. Taking game with the aid of said camera is a different story. That's the part that is not legal after the date specified, IIRC. How they would prove that take was associated is up to the Game and Fish officers investigating and the prosecutor I guess.

Don Martin is Striper Hunters. He is out of Kingman and fishes Lake Mead not Pleasant. He just got a new boat and is getting it dialed in again. Here's a thread from last year. https://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/79578-striper-fishing-ready-to-take-off-on-lake-mead/

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep 6a/22 vs 27/28 Late Hunts
Heat replied to Heat's topic in Bighorn Sheep Hunting
So there are only so many to choose from and two others are most definitely worse choices, one is better and you might guess what I'm going to do with that one. Which leaves me with these two, which is why I asked. I have all the data and fully understand how the draw works for sheep. Thank you for the input. -
Considering both the 6A/22 and 27/28 late hunts for a second choice. Which would you choose and why? Thanks for your opinion!

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep 6a/22 vs 27/28 Late Hunts
Heat replied to Heat's topic in Bighorn Sheep Hunting
Exactly. Got drawn for Desert in ought 10 with less points than I have now. You can't draw if you don't try.
