I agree with everything Stanley wrote except one thing. For the Love of God why do people call an animal with a pig like snout, hoofs, no incisors and giant canines rodents? There's a classification system in biology called Taxonomy. Rodents are squirrels, mice, beavers etc. A javelina is in no way, shape, or form a rodent! It is indeed most closely related to, yes, swine. Its not a swine, but similar. Maybe you are being funny trying to say varmint or something like Yosemite Sam would in a cartoon but it's wrong and a huge pet peeve. Rant over!

I live in Yuma and have a tag for the western units. 39, 40, 41, 42, etc. This last weekend I was hunting near Surprise in 42. I have hunted in 37B a fair amount in the past. For the record I have probably had more than a dozen tags, have shot a few quivers full of arrows, and have hit 3 and not recovered any over about 30 years of trying! I suck! Most years I can at least scare some up walking or even glass them up, make an awesome stalk, then miss or make a poor shot at like 10 yards. This year was tough. Here's a list of things I know I can do better: 1. Hunt better habitat. Needle in a haystack, enough said. 2. Actually go scouting. I never scout for javelina. Heck I don't even put in anymore, got lazy buying OTC tags. 3. Spend more time watching javelina, learning their habits. (relative to #2). This will also help me not have such "javi feever", LOL! For some reason I lose my mind around these things. 4. Become a better archer. 5. Give myself more time. The last 5 or 6 years have only been a weekend hunt per season or maybe a 3 day weekend. I seem to do better when I give myself at least 5-7 days in the field. 10 is even better. Whenever I have committed myself to an entire season, I have been successful.

Hey Brian, I am heading back to Puerto Penasco for another 1MISSION trip in a few weeks. Going fishing again too, 1/2 day on pangas. Not a darn thing wrong with that as long as the boat works and they keep you on fish. The trip I did last year was fine in that regard. Those triggers are really good eating, especially fried up! Fun to catch on light rigs. Making me hungry just thinking about it! I will try to get the names of the pangas we will be using. I think most of the fishing is that kind of thing but there are more options like Trphyhntr suggests. I think most of the gringos that really like to fish bring their own boats, so the options seem to be limited for great tourist sportfishing. Overfishing could be an issue too, but just a hunch. Good Luck and keep us posted on what you come up with. Nick

We have one to sell but it's a LH bow. Its a PSE from about 3 seasons ago that has probably only had a few dozen arrows total through it. Huge draw weight and draw length adjustability.

Way to go man, that is a good ram! Congratulations on your once in a lifetime desert bighorn sheep!

Did any of our regulars draw a tag?

Danner has a site wide sale going on today. 25% off most items, some closeouts marked down much more. Kuiu has select items up to 50% off. First Lite also as mentioned has some closeouts. I have an LL Bean code for 20% off clothing and outer ware. Eddie Bauer is doing 50% off everything. I love their Guide Pro and Horizon Guide 5 pocket pants.

You need to burn it all up or use the fancy stuff in the can without ethanol. That pump crap will junk up your carb quick!

If it is a fuel issue from bad gas, try mechanic in a bottle if all else fails. Have a mower that crapped out after a month. Sat for over a year. Used the mechanic in a bottle and the high test stuff in the can and viola, back in business. My wife couldn't believe I fixed something, LOL!

Sounds like a worthy cause but I don't fly fish! Any ideas for those unwashed, uncivilized heathens like me that use spinning gear?

Dang man that is scary! My condolences to the deceased. I will never forget my first overnight trip being down below and thinking to myself how f'ed we would be if the boat had a collision and how much trust we were putting on the crew! Take their safety briefing seriously I guess and hope the Coasties can hear you!

Way to go Adam, that one was worth driving to Wyoming for! Thanks for sharing man, awesome.
