The app is treated as a group with all or none of the applicants drawing. You could possibly draw the 4th and 5th tag in the bonus only round, but not the 5th and 6th. If you apply solo you will be considered a resident for drawing purposes since you still hold a lifetime resident license. You will still have to pay the NR fees for the tag however. Still a chance you could both draw in the random 1/2 pass.

Furthermore, if the strategy to prevail on this truly is by referendum or bill, we appear to be WAY behind the curve. They should have already been running it past the public and ready to drop a bill on Jan 1, the first day of the new legislative calendar. I have seen nothing of the sort but I am nowhere near as well connected as I used to be. If people are planning this and they don't have the YVRGC and other wildlife clubs on board yet, they/we are making tremendous tactical errors!

You have more confidence in the will of the Arizona voters than I do. Last I recall when we tried to do this through the Legislative Process by a Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish the antis kicked our butts!

If two or more conflicting measures or amendments to the constitution shall be approved by the people at the same election, the measure or amendment receiving the greatest number of affirmative votes shall prevail in all particulars as to which there is conflict. Reservation of legislative power. This section shall not be construed to deprive the legislature of the right to enact any measure except that the legislature shall not have the power to adopt any measure that supersedes, in whole or in part, any initiative measure approved by a majority of the votes cast thereon or any referendum measure decided by a majority of the votes cast thereon unless the superseding measure furthers the purposes of the initiative or referendum measure and at least three-fourths of the members of each house of the legislature, by a roll call of ayes and nays, vote to supersede such initiative or referendum measure.

If the initiative passes the only legislation that can be enacted by the legislature is something that furthers the purpose of the initiative. "In 1998, by initiative, the Arizona Constitution was amended to declare that the Governor may not veto successful referenda and initiatives and that these may not be repealed or amended by the legislature unless the amendment furthers the purposes of the initiative or referendum and is approved by a ¾ vote in each chamber. (Ariz. Const. art IV, part 1, §1)".

This petition is nice and all as long as we all realize that by State Law the Representatives and Senators, nor Governor have any say in this matter through their elected posititions. We need to educate the public so this initiative never makes it on the ballot. If it does there is a good chance that we will not defeat it. We need to be getting off our butts and talking to the non-hunters who are in the middle, which is approximately 80% of the population of Arizona. Try to put it out there in a way that people uninterested in hunting take notice of this. The bottom line is we never want wildlife managed at the ballot box whether its cats or whatever else they come up with. The Governor can't do crap. We have to win this one on our own!

You guys need to read ARS 17-309. If you have permission from the Landowner you can hunt closer. Not sure about this particular spot but it is possible to be closer than 1/4 mile and legal.

Good Luck and make sure so take some time to "smell the roses" so to speak! These hunts can be pretty intense. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

I have a 12x14 Davis Tent. I love it! You can do 4 with a stove in that. With 3 on cots with wood and stove its like a palace. They do monthly specials and may still have a "scratch and dent" sale in the spring. A few years ago I rented one for a week from a guy who was advertising on Craigslist. Might try looking on there. That was the best $100 I spent. Wife spent one night in that and gave me the green light to get one of our own!
