I just started this year. My wife is the one that actually got us going. She drew a HAM tag and needed something to use on that hunt so she borrowed a muzzleloader. A few months later I saw a great deal on one at the store when I was buying dogfood. Same model as the one she borrowed with the scope and case. Came out with the gun. Finally got a hold of some 209 primers so we can shoot it now. Now I want to say that one is hers and buy my own gun, LOL. Good Luck to all you guys who got drawn or still trying.

School Me on Blackhorn Powder? Is it worth it?
Heat replied to Heat's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
One kind forum member was willing to buy me some at Bass Pro but there was none left when he went to get it. Gone in less than 24 hours but probably didn't have much to start with. Some douchenozzle probably came in and bought it all. Supposedly on the shelves in some Walmarts back east. Sent my inlaws on a wild goose chase to a store that showed stock online but when they got there of course the employees didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Probably in some container to be put out in the fall. Was hoping they could buy me some at a decent price and bring it this winter. No dice on that either. I'll take ya'lls word for it that its worth it but seems impossible to get locally and I'm not going to be paying over $160 a pound to order it. I can get a pound of 777 loose for less than $40 with tax at more than one store locally. I'll shoot that until it makes sense to buy this magic dust. -

I have CCI 209 Mags. Had a hard time finding primers for a while but have been buying them for $4.99 and bought the last one today. Have access to Cheddite Clerinox shotgun primers too. Been trying to find that Blackhorn. Should have some coming for pickup to try but we'll see. Places back east and midwest are getting it on the shelves at Walmart for under $37. I have some 777 loose. People don't seem to be panic buying and hoarding that like the Blackhorn. -
I'm sorry to hear this. May she rest in peace and May God comfort you in your time of grief.

Try Grab A Gun, I just ordered some a couple days ago and it is on the way. PS this page is more for help with the site than in general, I reckon.

My wife's Tikka shoots the cheap Hornady stuff really well. Haven't tried much else to be honest. It has been extremely difficult for me to find any 7mm-08 online or locally. Have a ton of .270 to trade if anybody is willing to do a swap.

Alright I am convinced to try some. Got some ordered for store pickup at Cabelas. If I like it I am going to try to score the big can somewhere. -

We have a CVA Wolf, probably should have mentioned that. I can buy a Blackhorn plug for it. Thanks for sharing your opinion! If I can get a good deal on some I will probably try it. Figure if I can score the 5# jug I will be set for a while. -
This was my last buck not my first. This one is actually a 2x3 but has a big fork frame. I have some old pics of that little buck somewhere but nothing handy to post. Posted it on AZOD back in day.

Started hunting back in the late 80s. Got my first deer in my 20s back in the early 2000s. Got a forkie. Been 10 years now since I killed a buck. That needs to change.

Cards are being hit! Who's going hunting?
Heat replied to TR0UBLE SH00TER's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Hey if any of you DIY 12AW hunters want to coordinate during the hunt or at least have some contact info for someone else up there in case you get in a bind or whatever, I'm game. I will be up there with my wife, planning on getting there a day or two before the opener and staying the entire hunt if necessary. We aren't trophy hunting per se, just hoping for a good hunt with some meat in the freezer at the end and maybe a nice set of antlers to admire. -
Had 10, so I consider this a victory for sure!

Did you catch a gallo today cabron?

Hit, Kaibab or 3A/C archery for me or possibly a Kaibab late hunt for my wife. Either way one of us got a great deer tag!
