That dude is bad to the bone! I hope I can still do it at 62, nevermind 92! LOL!

Count me as another guy that has complete confidence in using a 130 grain .270 round for anterless elk.

Best wishes on the coming birth of your child and on your recovery! Bummer on the hunt, but you'll get other chances. Good Luck!

Family Squirrel Hunt
Heat replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Way cool Adam! Way to get those youngsters in the field having fun. Smiles all around is what it's all about. Great Job! -
We've been in touch. Thanks Beau for passing the info along and to Amanda for providing such an awesome resource to connect hunters...sometimes even in Wilderness!

That's awesome! Congrats on your Ibex and good luck in the Billy draw!
-
Wow! Congrats to the hunter! That's the kind of bull that keeps a guy coming back for more. Thanks for sharing!

Well Done Jake!

Congrats on your bull! I used to love 6B but the many years of cow slaughtering during the rifle seasons and the addition of an extra 100 tags or so during the archery season has soured my feelings on this unit. Seems like nobody gives a crap about staying on the designated roads either. Might give it another go one of these days. Thanks for sharing and good job adapting to the conditions and getting it done!

I don't like this either. Pretty sure if you buy from a license dealer you can choose when you want your license to start and it's good for 365 days. Not sure if this option exists online. I'm still going to try to just have my license valid from Jan 1 - Dec. 31st from now on.

Thanks for sharing Coach, that is a great hunt you and the boy had! He'll get em next time!
-
Very, very nice! Awesome pics and great story to top it off! Congrats!

For reference my ram was a tad over 34 inches on this side. I think the ram in the pics is longer and has much more mass than mine.

That was super cool footage! Thanks for sharing with us! You guys did good, way to stick with it!

I agree wholeheartedly! At least we have the Robertson's; still showing God's abundance in His woods and water and family gathering in prayer on TV. We can use plenty more of that.

Great Job on your first with a bow! Definitely not your last!

Nice bull! Way to go!

Unit 39, Sonoran Desert National Monument

Heard some not so positive stories coming out of that unit this year from stolen stands to way too many helpers and numbnuts driving where you aren't supposed to. Sounds par for the course these days which is terribly sad. All that considered you still have an elk tag in God's glorious outdoors. Hope you guys make the best of it. Good Luck!

Score is anybody's guess unless the sheep is dead and a tape has been put on it. I could be way off base but this is what I reckon based on my experience, which isn't that much compared to some guys out there. Looks a lot like Mike Cupell's ram he killed in 43B in 2012. http://www.boone-crockett.org/news/trophyWatch_detail.asp?area=news&ID=E6B71D1C-F233-4870-8505-069C403FE0E3

REALLY good ram! Around 170 is my guess. Horns are heavy but very tight curl. Ideally you would like to see more drop to add more to length but he is plenty long and plenty heavy! Shooter in any unit! I'm curious what unit you took the pic? You can send me a PM, I'm all tagged out on desert sheep, so no worries about competing with me for a tag. LOL

Anyone hunt Arizona Chucker?
Heat replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
There are chukar on the AZ Strip. I have no clue about guides. Maybe a place to shoot pen raised birds also but not positive about that. -
Can you tell us more about your hunt? What an awesome bull elk!

Great job on a nice looking bull! Congratulations!
