I would add KUIU to your list. Cabela's Microtex is the best fabric I have found for hunting yet! I've got more stuff than I almost know what to do with but having versatility and flexibility is nice. My go to stuff as mentioned is the Microtex for most hunts. I start with a baselayer of Under Armor Heat Gear if hot or Cabela's Thermastat if cold. Merino wool is a popular baselayer option these days. On top of that I usually wear a lightweight fleece or shirt (Microtex Lite or regular). Pants same Microtex Lite or regular depending on temp. During winter I have various layers of fleeces and insulating layers mostly if not all bought at Cabela's in Outfitter Camo. I also have some stuff I wear when its hot as heck and not expecting any moisture made of cotton. If colder temps are expected and/or there is any hint of a possibility of rain I stick with synthetics. Layering and versatility is key. Good Luck and feel free to ask specific questions.

Takes a poacher to know a poacher I guess. This is disgusting! Why am I not surprised to find a grip and grin photo with this guy in it? Reminds me of the cop in Colorado that got caught and convicted of poaching and tried to influence public officials, destroy evidence, you know Shawn Wagner stuff! If I ever get stopped by this moron in the field I'm calling the County Sheriff immediately. I'll let them sort it out!

Let's see...my application fee almost doubles in cost and I can't even get an email confirmation now? Is that place run by Democrats or what?

Our Club tried to make it a FELONY to do this nonsense. At worst these guys will sit on the sidelines for 5 years. I think there should be harsher penalties when you pull crap like this!

More short videos of some awesome 3A-3C deer and lots of kill shots. Good luck on the draw!!

Great work, nice bucks, but I have to ask...why wait so long to share this? Dang man, I might have put in for 3C which I could have easily drawn with the points I have. Something to think about for next time. -
I get the harvest report every year.

I misspoke, I meant didn't select any of those hunts. I chose the Upper and Lower Blue River hunts for my choices. I did that because I want all 31 days, not half a season. I also put a lot of weight on where I shoot my ram. It would be awesome to get WAY back in there with backpacks, Mules, or Horses and have a true wilderness hunt. You might shoot your ram right next to an active mine in 27 if that is where you draw. Again, to each his own. Good Luck!

trphyhntr, Better is in the eye of the tagholder! As we saw with the hunts Jay Scott did in 6A last year, there are some really good rams there, but that unit does not have the history and the population that 27 has. Here are the B&C Green scores from 2013 as measured by AZGF without respect to first or second season: 6A: 179 4/8, 181 2/8, 176 7/8, 168 6/8 27/28: 168 5/8, 177, 179 3/8, 168 4/8, 167, 157 5/8 Something to note...The oldest ram, which would be the most desirable ram to harvest from a biological perspective, was the lowest scoring ram of the bunch. Everybody has their notion of quality. Do you want one with big mass, length, an even look without chips or breaks? It's all different. If you are simply interested in the highest score then you need to look at A LOT of rams! Good luck in the drawing! FWIW I didn't select either of those units. Nick

I've got some property right by the Forest Boundary in Heber, on Black Canyon Road. You can probably find a lot nicer spot down by the lake or on the 300 RD. PM if this is of any interest. Nick

I also heard that it was poached. No real scoop though, sorry!

Not my line but here goes: "It makes Richard Simmons look like Vin Diesel!"

The most valuable thing I own is a 25 cent hankerchief that was carried by my grandfather.

Wow! That is one nice pronghorn! Thank you for sharing. Get him Flatlander!

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Better to ask then assume and get in trouble in the field. Crossbow permit is probably not feasible but you may want to look into a CHAMP (Challenged Hunters Access/Mobility Permit), it also requires a Physician signed form from the Department which includes at least 90% disability in one leg regardless of the function of the other leg.

This is so funny, but in reality quite sad!

Tikka T3s on Sale at Tucson Sportsmans
Heat replied to Siwash's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Been looking around online. That is easily $100 less than anywhere else I can find them. Great deal for someone, unfortunately looks like that someone is not me -

Walmarts in Yuma don't sell guns anymore if you can believe that garbage! I have an email in to Richard Sprague. He has always treated me fairly but I don't think he'll come anywhere near that price. I don't mind paying the shipping to order online, but the guys around here with FFLs tend to rake you over the coals for the transfer. Rather keep my money here in AZ too. -
I like my Lone Wolf Alpha Climber with sticks. It gets me way up there and very concealed. I can also put it on my frame pack and bring it anywhere. That is a huge plus.

Great info Lance, I really appreciate it!
