  1. Okay guys I have a tikka t3 hunter in 243 for sale. Is is a great shooting gun and has a nikon monarch 4-12x40 on it. The reticle is the nikoplex and it is an ao version. The rings are the original rings that came with the tikka. It is a glued barrel and is 22.5 inches long. The stock is wood and has a couple of dings in it but overall this gun is in great shape. I also have a set of rcbs dies and some factory loaded ammo for this gun. I have three boxes of 100gr federal sp and a half a box of federal premium with the barnes tsx bullet. I will try to post pics in a little while. Asking 700.

Alright guys and gals here are the pictures of the Tikka.......

  2. I hate to do it but I am thinking about getting rid of my 1187. I want to get a new bow and at the current time the only way that is going to happen is if I get rid of this gun.

It is a Remington 11-87 premier in 20 ga. The premier edition has the gloss wood and the two bead sight. It also has engraving on the receiver. I will include a a green gunmate soft case and 8 boxes of ammo for the gun. It is all federal gameshok 1oz 7 1/2 shot except for one box of 8 shot. Let me know if you are interested. I am in the east valley and would prefer to meet on this side of town but might be able to work with buyer. asking $600

  3. I have only been hunting big game now for about 4 years. Last year I was finally lucky enough to shoot my first deer. It was a fork horned mulie but to me it was one of the best days of my life. Then in January I was lucky enough to shoot a javelina. The deer i shot with a rifle but the pig I shot with my bow. Anyway to make a long story short I have been on cloud nine since I shot two animals in a matter of months. I had the hunting bug before but now it is really bad. So I went out today and spotted a buck and decided to try to get a shot at him. I snuck around the hill where he and two other bucks were but when I finally saw them it was the smaller of the two big bucks that was closest to me. Being that I have never shot a deer with a bow, and never have shot a whitetail I decided that he was good enough. I drew back and shot and completely missed. Oh I think I am going to be sick! I have no idea what happened but it was windy and when I ranged him he was 50 yards. By the time I was able to shoot he had taken a couple of steps and I think he was just farther away than I thought. All I know is I am totally obsessed with getting a whitetail this year. I never could understand why you guys have such an obsession with these tiny little deer but now I know!

  4. So I got my free broadhead in the mail today and all I have to say is WOW.........THESE THINGS ARE NOISY!! Guess i am going to have to go get more wac'ems. I got really spoiled because I work at this warehouse for sportsman and I used to be able to get them really cheap. Now we don't carry them and no matter how much I beg they will not give me a deal on them. I understand that they won't do it because we don't care them just bummed that I have to pay full price for them. (sorry just venting!)

  5. All right guys I hate to do this but I ordered a pair of boots that are a little too small for me. I was hoping that I could wear them and break them in but it is not happening. I have worn them 2 or 3 times and that is it. The are a 12w but if you wear a 11 they will probably fit you, they run small apparently. They are on Rocky's website for $179.99, I will sell them for $140 TYD.

  6. I have a weatherby vanguard in 25-06 that shoots good. I know its not a tikka but I thought I would let you know what shoots good in it. This target was shot with federal premium ammo, 117gr sierra gameking. This is the only ammo that I have shot through this gun because it was accurate enough for me. I shot a small mule deer in November last year and he stopped dead in his tracks. The shot was 200 yards but I never found the bullet so I couldn't tell you what it looked like afterwards but it did the job.

  7. I am sure that a lot of the people that have replied to this post have found this out but I thought I would tell you what I know about the situation. Yes 23 stores are closing and another 15 were sold to UFA. The biggest problem now is that they filled bankruptcy about two and a half weeks ago. They have been having financial problems for some time now; I think that the consumers have just started to notice since the end of the year. The bankruptcy could be good or bad for the company but only time will tell.

I will however say that I am sorry for the poor treatment that anyone may have received in the last couple of months. I know that I am probably guilty of this but it is a difficult situation. On a daily basis I have to explain this situation to at least a hundred people, more than half of them pissed off because we do not have the products that they want. This takes its toll on the employees and I think we take that out on the customers, which is not right. We also have no control over the situation and this makes it hard on us as well. There is not a person in Arizona or in each of the Arizona stores that orders for our stores. This is all done in Utah. People get so pissed at me because I don't know what people need. I may know but that doesn't mean that I can get that product in our store. This is were the smaller stores have an advantage, the know what they are out of and they can call their vendors and get the product they need/want.

The other problem is the Obama situation. People have been freaking out about what is going to happen to firearms now that we have a Democratic president. When we used to get shipments of ammo in we would bring the pallet out to the sales floor. We only did this after the election because people were waiting for the product to come in. Everyone was so scared, at least that is my opinion, that they were not going to be able to get the stuff. We couldn't put it away fast enough, so we wheeled it out and let the customer go through it and get what they want.

The bare shelves are because of a multitude of things but they are supposed to be getting better. We are slowly starting to get stock again but the stuff that we get that is any good is gone as soon as we get it. Don't get me wrong we are not getting all the stuff that we need but it will come in time. I have heard that or reloading supplies will not get any better for a while because the product is hard to find now.

I hope this helps everyone understand the situation that is going on with Sportsman's and I hope that our customers will eventually come back. I am also very discouraged about the whole thing but I hope that there are brighter days ahead.

  8. You could take them into Sportsman's and they will send them in for you, but it will take a while. You will also have to pay for the shipping to send them and anything they may charge to repair them (usually free).

If you contact Nikon yourself it will probably take half as long and it will cost you the same amount of money. They like to deal with the customer more than a store, even if the product is a customers.

    Hope that helps a little
