Even with a simple rule like this. A non hunter can still put a trail camera on a waterhole year round! Really Azgfd should just leave it as it is! Hello my name is PETA!

One of my Emails to: Commissioner Davis. According to the proposed 1/4 mile rule for Trail cameras . 1st. There will always be a trail cam on the water in dry units . A hunter without a tag can put it there irregardless of a new rule based on fair chase in aiding or abetting. 2nd I drive by that Trick tank I see his camera . I call G&F to report because I see his camera . I dont know who's it is but think its someone bending the rules. Times that senario by 1000's in calls to G&F . Jealously prevails in our modern world. 3RDLY. How would G&F know who it was ? Jay Cook said well we would do our normal investigative process , really x 100s or 1000's of calls? 4th All a none tag holder has to do is call his buddy who has a tag and say you need to check out this trick tank . And G&F is gonna try to prove that he told his buddy about that big bull . Really how are they ever even gonna know? 6th . Because G&F only has the authority to ban cameras under the Fair chase policy and not the authority to ban all cameras all times you are borrowing more trouble than the existing system that we have now! Thats why my idea : 1. All units north of the colorado river cameras shall be takedown 48 hours before the 1st rifle deer hunts. 2nd. All elk units south of the Colorado River Trail Cameras shall be take down 48 hours before the 1st archery elk hunts. 3rd. Simplistic and enforceable. Josiah Scott

Simplicity is the key to this camera issue. Alot of Guys are over thinking this ! This has never been about live feed cams it is a dead issue.

Trphyhntr your just trying to reinvent the wheel! Lol!😁 I dont know alot but I do know nothing last forever and change is inevitable. So yester year or the good old days are gone so its best that we are adaptable to current events .

Thom C I have only been doing cameras a few years. The most I have ever done is 11 total wow big impact. With or with out a tag I do them its fun! We killed a big archery bull last year and never had a trail cam near or around it.

ThomC you are wrong sir. Its because of the outfitters that the Dept is pursueing this. The hunters that are not using trail cams are the ones complaining. Which is the majority. So a good compromise works for all. TRAIL CAMS DO NOT KILL ANIMALS!

Trphyhntr, Sorry not personal Im just thinking way ahead of your question. I have never ever used a live trail cam and that my friend is already dead . No more Live trail cams. So non issue!

Trphyhntr Is sitting water during a hunt and or hunting near a waterhole fair? So My daughter had a cow elk tag when she was 12. The 1st mornings hunt was unfruitful so midday we sat water in comes the cows boom its over! Was that Ethical? So how can a trail camera on water which kills nothing be unethical?

Trphyhntr, Good One! 😁. Where is the line of demarcation based on Fair chase ? If you can tell me that based on something besides your opinion then the problem is solved.😊

Bottom line: I believe they should leave the Trail cam issue alone. But in saying that they are already bent on doing something. So the least invasive compromise is what I am for.

Tjhunt2 Desert Christian bowhunters was there last night and represented well. He had some good ideas also.

Guys. Email the Commissioners . I just had Kurt Davis respond to my email. In his mind its all about fair chase. So where does technology come in to play here? IS Fair Chase stone age thinking still . Maybe a stone or a spear. Is sitting water during a hunt fair chase?

I just talked to Celeste Cook at Azgfd. I was able to by pass all the emails to them . So They will get a 1st hand look at the idea I proposed in a the previous post! I also emailed all Commissioners again. SirRoyal

I was at that 1st meeting this year I also thought their mind was made up and no matter what we said it was going to happen Azgfd's way. But there has been a big backlash from us the hunters. So the commissioners ask to see alternative plans! Im telling you they are begging for ideas! I think if they dont bring some alternate ideas back to the commissioners on June 8th. Its could be dead! There was up to 217 hunters watching the webinar tonite. Some of us have been working this trail cam issue on the sidelines but right at the target. I preached the gospel (the good news) of Trail cams to the Chairman of the Fair Chase Committee set up by AZGFD. He was very receptive and appreciated getting another point of view which helped to balance him and his committee. They give AZGFD recommendations. This is all to compilcated and it doesn't have to be. Game and Fish tonight was basically begging for new ideas so they could take it to the commissioners in a week. So I sent them this tonight. Dear Sirs: You and we as the interested public hunters are over complicating this Trail cam issue. As we know there are really only a few units where its a big problem. So here is my proposal: 1. All units north of the Colorado River hunters shall remove their trail cams 48 hours before the 1st rifle deer hunts . 2. All elk units south of the Colorado River hunters shall pull cameras 48 hours before the 1st archery elk hunts. 3. Also possibly Put a Trail Camera start date of the 2nd friday in May of each year and a removal date 48 hours before the start of the North of the Colorado 1st rifle deer hunt and 48 hours before the 1st archery elk hunts South of the Colorado river. Only 12 Sportsmen showed up because we did not know! And I dont think they are truly transparent. 1st I understand the fight against anti's takes Money. But lets be honest 150 tags on a raffle drawing as Pete said out of 100,000 tags doesnt seem much and said it would include cow tags and late elk tags. Thats laughable. They will not generate the money needed by raffling mediocre tags. Its gonna be all the early elk hunts and strip, kiabab tags. How do you keep the rich guys from spiking the raffle and buying 50% or better of the tickets? Dan Agnew already did it here in Az years back and he won.

This is Indiana Joe. He was an awesome guy. Only thing he didnt do was book his Arizona archery elk hunt early enough with Travis McClendon AEO! When we talked I agreed with him that all the good guides were gone! I told him I was the most blessed guide you never heard of!😊 I explained I dont guide for the money, I have a job dont need another, I guide because I love to hunt! It puts me out there every year. Told him by the time you arrive I will have already spent every dime Travis pays me and more preparing for your arrival and your hunt! Anyway we had a blast , he brought his wife also. We called in bull after bull waiting for that one big one ! The 5th day of the hunt I told him your gonna kill tonight! He's like really ? Yep I said watch and see friend , I dont joke about things like that. Well of course I was depending on the Good Lord and all the homework I had done all summer. So here are the results of that 5th day! 20 yard shot broadside and he drilled him through both lungs. Bull didnt go 30 yards!

Man, Did I have an exciting year! Just sharing a glimpse of it! Only those who have done this understand all the hardwork involved to capture these bulls . Its definitely a non-profit endeavor. But then I for one dont do it for the money but for the love of it!

No joke. I met SirRoyal a couple years ago and he puts in lots of hours and miles for his clients. Many more than he gets paid. Stand-up guy and helped me out on my hunt even though wed never met before and had no guiding relationship.Thank you bigorange for those kind words.You for one know Im blessed when you seen that heavy tire on a rim and all come off that trailer at 65 miles an hour. I was setting glassing for you off the highway. That tire at the last minute bounced right over my cab and hit the ground on my driver side. I never seen it coming till it landed thru my binoculars. One of my friends sons had just died that year from a tire coming thru the top of his cab that yearin phx.
