I have same hunt. I have never seen any deer there though. We're going to start with an archery hunt in Aug to get familiar with the area Anywhere from Globe to 7mile wash is good. So is the Pinals. Haven't hunted there in a few years but use to do real well in those places. Hope it helps Thanks. I appreciate the info. We're looking to take our first coues -we got a late start in life hunting the grey ghosts.

6TH ANNUAL CWT.com MARSHALL LAKE GET-TOGETHER
azphil replied to Lance's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
Thanks to Lance and his family for all their hard work and the great food. It was great seeing the kids have such a good time out there. I had a great time meeting everyone and look forward to the next gathering. I enjoyed EFX ing everyone and I still can't tell you how it does what it does. -

2 more first timers attending. Azphil (Phil Sanchez) and Stumpsitter (Jim Martin). We will be arriving Friday pm. Will bring some stuff. Looking forward to it. -
More than likely it was a failure to know local laws. If they were known and violated - that's another thing. Like they say" ignorance of the law is NO excuse! Ted is an un-apologetic supporter of our shooting rights and of hunting. Don't judge if you don't know all the FACTS!

Obeservations... and my conclusion
azphil replied to donniedent's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Well said Donnie. I often wander thru the site here and see the lack of interest in the political forum. This forum (politics) and bringing youth into the outdoor life are the keys to keeping our sport alive. I'll be there for the waterhole project in 44A - look forward to meeting you. -
I'll be there and will try and bring a couple of friends

We took the grandkids today- it was nice in the am, but the winds kicked up about noon and there was lots of dust. Great stuff for all ages and interests to enjoy.

thanks for update

Congrats - it's great getting the family involved in the outdoor experience.

If my schedule allows I'd be more than happy to help. I have some contacts in the refuse biz we might get to help out.
-
Congrats on a nice buck and a good write up.

With accuracy and familiarity being equal, the 270 will give you more downrange knockdown energy.
-
Good looking buck. Congrats

My old Remington 700 ADL Synthetic stock likes handloads of 140 gr nosler ballistic tips pushed by 63 gr IMR 4350. Nosler 140 accubonds also group well in my rifle.

We will be scouting/shooting in 22 on Sunday. Usually on the 201 road. We'll be in a maroon chevy pickup or crew cab Ranger. If you see us, say hi. Brad We're in same general area. Will look for you. Either a gold ranger with half cab or white jeep.

I haven't hunted 22 since mid 70's. Killed my first deer ever on my first hunt there -mulie. Only hunted coues for 2years in 36b. Looking for my first coues.

What are opinions on how the number of cattle in an area affects coues? I've seen a couple of wt does in the area we're scouting but no bucks. Quite a few cows using the same section. Put up with the cattle or find a different spot?
-
thx for invite. Scouting this weekend in 22 for Oct 21 hunt.
-
I like being to hunt the whole unit as we have special spots in the north and south. Some years the tag you drew and the animals in our area don't "match up"
-
Good luck on your hunt!
