He shot the lead cow Sat. morning with the rest of the herd standing in an empty tank. I saw your 4Runner with the hatch open as we drove by about 5:15. The other guy I had with me got shots right before dark just a couple miles north of you. He missed.

I used to go up to that area (Q Ranch) alot when I was younger. I would usually come up from the South. I stumbled upon the graves one trip and I believe a small monument telling about the Pleasant Valley wars. I will see about getting the book.

About the 1st 10 years I was there we did Grand Canyon hikes every year. Our owner at the time was an avid hiker. He hiked in white converse Chuck Taylors. He is now deceased and his Dad's name is on a couple hospitals in the Valley. He inspired me to do the Rim to Rim to Rim hike that I did in 1990.

Brings back memories. We did a company hike there years ago. I remember having to lift the dog up to the next ledge a few times in that last stretch. I remember all the ladybugs at the top.

Bummer, hope you get it back. I lost a knife in 23 on the hillside under that big juniper. Went back 3 days later and still couldn't find it. This was 33 years ago. Probably rusted out by now.
