About the 1st 10 years I was there we did Grand Canyon hikes every year. Our owner at the time was an avid hiker. He hiked in white converse Chuck Taylors. He is now deceased and his Dad's name is on a couple hospitals in the Valley. He inspired me to do the Rim to Rim to Rim hike that I did in 1990.

Brings back memories. We did a company hike there years ago. I remember having to lift the dog up to the next ledge a few times in that last stretch. I remember all the ladybugs at the top.

Just curious.... Your buck you tagged looks kind of hard horned. Most, if not all bucks in your pictures looked to be in velvet. Did you see any hard horned bucks?

Bummer, hope you get it back. I lost a knife in 23 on the hillside under that big juniper. Went back 3 days later and still couldn't find it. This was 33 years ago. Probably rusted out by now.

Your best bet is to drive around. They will fly if near a road. I've seen doves in 7 but it's hard to pinpoint a spot they like. Any tank with water should have some nearby but it sounds like those are scarce right now. Sunflower patches attract them but since it's hardly rained those might be hard to find. Good luck!

I've taken the shell bags and bird bags off the cheap Walmart ones and put them on the belt that comes with my cargo shorts. Works pretty good. I still have and use a bird belt bag that I bought at AZ Sportsmans when they were on Camelback Rd. It was labeled as a Remington product. It's on its last leg but has served me well for years.

Wife and I put in for late kabob tag. Figured what the heck. Sheep would be nice before I can't walk. Got enough to draw buffalo but waiting for the right time. Maybe couple more years.
