We had just passed Jakes Corner, after hunting 23 the last Friday of the HAM hunt, and between there and 87 there were 2 pigs feeding right next to the fence on the north side of the road just 20 yards from the pavement. So there are pigs in 22......At least you got out and enjoyed it.

Nice! Looks great.

My wife is going to spit venom if she draws that antelope tag with gas at 4 or 5 bucks a gallon. It's going to cost me 120 bucks per scouting trip just in gas.

Congrats and great shot! Girls know how to kill pigs!

Congrats on your pig! I hope your son gets another chance to get his.

Great job! Lots of young ladies getting their 1st javelinas this season. I hope she washes her shirt before softball practice.......

What do you call a Packer fan with a bottle of wine? A waiter. The bagboy at Safeway was reeling off the jokes today. He's a Steelers fan.....

I missed 2 different ones Friday in 23. I thought I had more patience........ Still like someone here said: The only thing worse than not getting a pig, is getting a pig. At least I got some exercise. And I'm going back Friday for more exercise. Oh, and nice picture and nice gun, Nitemann.

They are only accepting the green stripe ones this year. Says right in the elk/antelope regs that the red stripe envelopes will not be forwarded. The red ones have the old address on it. If you mail them use the green stripe ones.

Way to go man! Nice buck!

Can you handle the recoil of a 300 UltraMag? How much are you looking to spend on this rifle? My 1st rifle was a Remington in .270 Winchester. I shot a BAR .270 for years and just upgraded to a .270WSM. In my opinion a .300 ultra mag is overkill for deer. Ammo for a .300 is expensive, too. Read some articles about Jack O'Connor and everything he shot with his .270. Good luck and let us know what you end up getting.

Congrats on a fine pig and a job well done. You earned it!

I got nothin'. I don't drink when I hunt and don't shoot a PSE. Maybe I can photoshop a 30 pack into a hunting picture....... It is nice to see Amanda getting more sponsors.

Way to go man! Congrats! Another story that just goes to show that anything can happen when you are out there.

Everybody has such cool dogs, I like them all. Here is my male Brittany named Muzzy. He was supervising me when I was pulling my son's friend out of the mud. Here is all of our pups taking a nap one afternoon.

Bri drew a jr. tag for 20B/21. We got to our spot about 8:30 and we (I) started glassing. At our 2nd glassing spot we heard what sounded like a little dog barking. So we listened and then found a javelina running back and forth way below us. It wasn't a dog but a javelina making the noise. We weren't sure if they were catching our wind, so we moved back up top and moved to where the wind wasn't a factor. We finally located them about 170 yards below us. We could not get much closer because the hill was very steep and we didn't want to risk spooking them. Bri finally found them in her scope. After almost pulling the trigger 6 times, one finally stood still. She had also waited for it to stand broadside and not have another one in front or behind. (She paid attention at Hunter Ed.) Finally after watching these things for 20 minutes she squeezes the trigger and I see it hunch up and walk backwards under a tree and doesn't move. I get a couple landmarks to go by for once we get down there. It went 8 feet from where it was hit. She made a great shot with her BAR .243 and Barnes 85 grain Triple Shocks at about 165 yards. Way to go Bri!!!!! Her pig had a gash on its snout.

Our doctor said the same thing and she was a hunter. I tried talking her into letting the wife go elk hunting. But she kept saying the noise/percussion could be harmful. Not the walking or bumping around in the truck that you think would be a reason.
