Scotty, what size river rock you are loking for? A ton of river rock 3 to 6 or 4 to 8 inches will cost you around 50 bucks. So if you are not sure if it's legal or not is not that expensive. I'm not sure but I think I have some river rock, about 3 five gallon buckets but it may be to small for your project (about 3") besides, I dont know where you live but I think we live far away from each other. Dont feel bad Kathi, me and my daughter did not got drawn either. Our application got rejected cause "applying twice for the same species" What happened is that our friend that we put in with, applied also with some body else on a different application. The good news is that there are plenty of left over permits So hope you feel a little bit better now Ernesto C

I'm not an expert but in the scenario you described at the begining I will aim dead on with my 257 WBY MAG. Now another thing that a lot of people does not see is that when you are looking at a buck down hill you are not seeing one side of the buck only (assuming he's broadside) you are also seeing the opposite side of the buck! So if you aim dead center you are actually aiming at the opposite side of the buck and if in top of that you try to compensate for distance/bullet drop guess what? You are shooting high! I have seen lots of people miss this type of shots, they are not easy but practice makes perfect. My two cents............Thank You. Ernesto C

You must learn that in life, there are some things we can't get; and some things that we dont get becuase we are not prepared for them yet. When you get prepare when you get ready....you'll get them. Nothing comes out of its time. There is a time for everything but this time it was your responsability to make it happen but dont worry....there are more important things right now that you must take care off. Your dad is doing nothing wrong with his decision, he's trying to make out of you a responsible man. He (your dad) is a wise man and he is just trying to help you and guide you now so in the future you'll be prepare for life. If it make you feel better......this past January, I had two tags for Sonora Mexico and did not get to go. I had to choose between my responsabilitys (my kids and work) or to go hunting. Good luck to you and I'm sure you'll get better grades and you'll be hunting soon. Ernesto C

Had the oportunity to go to 36C to hunt for javalinas, my daughter Ana had a tag. We had a blast, and specially cause my wife Ana and our son Emmanuel got to see the whole action. We started hunting on saturday morning I left my brother Javier on a "his" spot and we moved about 300 yards from him. We climbed (sp) some huge boulders to have a good view of the flats. About sunrise I spoted a herd of javalinas walking towards my brother Javier. They stoped for a while but my daughter could not shoot becuase they were between us and Javier. I called my brother and told him the "javis" were walking his way. We lost them and could not see them anymore and then silence................5 minutes later my brother called me back and he told us to head back his way, that the javies were not moving and they were half way up the slope. We got of the boulders and head up towards my brother position, when we got there he showed us were the javalina were. Told my daughter to get ready and just to aim dead center just like the way she praticed. She put the javi on the crosshair and PUUMMM!! Javalina rolled down!! Javis running now in all directions and PUUM my brother Javier got his. My daughter was really excited!! I ask her how she felt and she just smile and said: "my legs are shaking! I congratuladed her for and awesome shot at a 116 yards, she gave me the high 5's and said wohoo one shot one kill!! On a side note, when I was field dressing the javalina, I was worry that my daughter and my kid Emmanuel will not like to see the blood and organs of the javalina but to my sorprise, they stood there next to me helping me out and they were identifying the organs of the pig really cool! Thanks to Javier for calling us and letting my daughter Ana take the first shot. Thanks guys, you all take care.............Ernesto C
