I know its a small consolation but there is always the archery hunts with the over-counter tags. I think that hunting archery makes you a better all-around hunter anyways and its a good excuse to tromp around the hills and look at the animals. My condolences to those who were skunked on the draw and congrats to those who got a tag(s). Best of luck-lets get some in the books this year Trufletch

Anybody know if the meeting on Aug 13, 14th in Flagstaff is an open meeting with public input? Maybe head up to the cool pines, get out of the heat and throw in our two-cents. We need to make sure our voice is heard on a regular basis. I couldn't make the recent trips to Phoenix but Flagstaff in Aug. sounds like a good idea. trufletch

Ernesto and Diamondbackaz are right on the money. We are all better than this- Don't let guys like Buster spool us. I did, and I am done with his kind- Just ignore any of his and people like his postings This isn't his fight. We will take the high road and stand up for the states rights to govern itself. After all this country was fopunded on the premise that the Fed gets its rights from the states. Unfortunately this has eroded over the years and now we have the tail wagging the dog. As i said in an earlier poist- I am a firm believer in karma This will all work out for the better if we do our jobs , be ladies and gentlemen, be educated, vocal, boycott sponsors if needed, talk to our elected officials, and the G7F Commission- An organized, concerted effort will go a long way to ending this mess. I was wondering if a backer of USO would show up- Buster, people like you and the USO crowd are human sponges- think you have a right to everything and should have to give nothing in return. The people that live hunt and breath in the state dump more money into the economy and help the conservation in this state more than you would ever know. Your right, we are passionate about coues, but this just shows how much we care about the whole system. When's the last time you carried garbage sacks while scouting or hunting to pickup the garbage thats left by others?-guaranteed-never- Your financial and written backings of groups like USO show what kind of person you really are. Probably never hunted a hard day in your life- Payed Sponges like USO to do the work for you. You probably hunt with aircraft and conduct motorized roundups. -real sportsmen each of you. Calling USO a guide service does a disservice to the hard-working guide outfits that are out there. USO may have won a battle but this thing is far from over. Judges rulings get overturned all the time and who knows, maybe this state can come up with a system that works for the blue collar hunter and keeps people like you out. You definately have more money than common sense. Your true ignorance of the issue has shown through. Trufletch

Murphs right-calm, cool, logical thought processes are needed. I realize the need to blow off some steam but lets make sure its not taken out on the wrong people. I have been fortunate to hunt elk in New Mexico, one of the cheaper tags, but an out-of state nonetheless. I want to continue to do that without thoughts of getting my butt stomped or camp trashed by that states resident population. Don't bash the blue-collar hunter, like we all are. Lets focus our collective resources to the real satan- USO, speak out to our elected officials, boycott USO sponsors, write the newspapers and magazines but above all, don't act like a bunch of drunk duck hunters. Combine our efforts in an educated, well presented format and we will be better off. Take the high road. P.S. I am a native Tucsonan and have hunted this utopia forever- lets save it for our children- maybe this could be our legacy. trufletch

Just an added note, called some of my sources and found out that the draw had already been completed when this thing reared its ugly head. I was told the the ENTIRE draw will have to be redone. Might as well pull out the old pictures from past hunts and relive a few and continue with the preseason scouting and keep the faith that the draw will turn out well for all of us. Trufletch

Just read the thing myself, not only not good but my guess is since the G&F brass are not meeting until Friday July 16th, the draw results won't be in until sometime next week. it will take them a while to flesh the thing out. Maybe another contest on the date of the results-Hope it's before the hunts actually start. Like everyone else, I am getting pretty antsy-need to make plans with familwork and hunting partners. Since we are onto questions of the draw- does anyone have the definitive answer on how the bonus point system works. I have heard that G&F only takes up to 5 max bonus points, giving you only a max of 6(5 bonus points and 1 for the app) for a chance to draw a certain genus. I have also heard that if you have filled out the max amount of possible hunt draws for a certain animal and when your app is drawn and the 1st 2 areas are already filled, your app goes back into the barrel. We are having some discussions on this at the office and everyone has a diifferent opinion on this. Not that this much matters, big-game tags are becoming as scarce as hens teeth these days- Hope everyone gets the hunt of their dreams-thanks for any input Trufletch
