  1. We were in 1 and they were definitely not talking much. The wind was so bad we would not have been able to hear them much anyway. Good luck up there heard they got some snow today too.

Ive hunted turkeys in one the better part of 20

Years and this was the worst opening weekend Ive ever encountered Birds were gobbling just to gobble. Zero interest in responding to calls. Im hoping it picks up the next few weeks so I can go back up and try and fill my tag.

  2. I was only able to hunt Friday with my family. She killed Sunday morning, rag horn. All I can say is glass high, then glass higher. I don't think they are coming down. It's going to take someone a lot of climbing into no mans land to kill a bull. She couldn't get on the big boy that was running with her rag horn.

The weekenders were out in full force Friday. Rolling around

    Good luck to all.

  3. I killed a bull In 22s in 2010. They are there, but not many like there was just 5 years ago. It's actually pretty silly, we use to see elk all over the place, but with the added elk tags and the amounts of people out durning the deer seasons, it's really made the numbers And quality bulls go way down. Id offer to help with some spots, but we have a family member with the same tag. Best of luck.

The bull I killed is pictured in my avi.

  4. I can assure you guys our hunting party is as ethical as they come. Trent and his family have been very good to me for the better part of 10 years and with out a doubt I can say they are very ethical and serious when it comes to hunting and fishing. I'm proud to call Trent and his family friends. He will tell the story, but it unfolded so fast it was unreal. I learned a lot this year.

YEP, BEEN SAYING IT FOR YEARS PUT IN FOR ARCHERY AND ADD 3 BUDDIES ON THE APP AND IF THEY GET DRAWN THEY BUY A BOW AND SHOOT IT FIVE SIX TIMES AND THEY ARE READY. GOOD HUNTERS. HELLO WAKE THE $UC$ UP GAME AND FISH DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. HELLO.

what does game and fish need to wake up and do something about?

He didn't go far, maybe a quarter mile. That's the toughest part for me right now. We looked for a day and a half. We walked by him at least once or twice and maybe more. I am not a trophy hunter. Sure, everyone wants to kill a nice bull but the fact that I am going home without any meat really bothers me. I am grateful that I was able to recover him.

we have it heck looking for him. I just can't believe he was where he was. heck we stopped and met up right there. I'm just glad you found him. Thanks for letting me be apart of it.

  7. />Well guys this story has a happy ending. I was able to locate the hunter and he has been reunited with his bull thanks to coueswhitetail. Also coueswhitetail has a new member. Congrats on a great bull Trent!!!!
    thank you.

I lost a deer in November so I know the feeling. It was a long few days after this happened. I would have never thought the bull would be recovered. It's not even my bull but I'm thankful as all heck because I was the range guy. Thank you again for helping Trent and outing him in touch with the right people.

To the guys who found him. Thank you.

  8. I just want to say thank you. I'm the buddy who was with the hunter who killed this bull. It's a fitting end. I knew he was a nice bull when we walked up on him, I how every didn't know how nice he was because it happened so fast. I ranged him and the arrow was on its way, 15-20 seconds max.

Thank you again. It's stuff like this that reaffirms to me there are still good people left.

  9. if you gave the SN to the cops and it hit the buy back yesterday there is a chance you will get it back. They are supposed to check the SN's of the guns they took in before selling or destroying.

    one can only hope.

  10. Did you have the serial numbers to give to the police? The one and only time I have had firearms stolen, I was very lucky to get them back. The police picked up the punks a few days later with an apartment full of stolen goods. Mine were the only guns listed as stolen, probably because I was the only one who kept track of my serial numbers. Best of all, the barrels were all the same length they were whent they left my home.
    Yea

I have all the serial numbers for all my firearms. It was reported that night. I'm hoping someone gets stupid and try's to pawn or sell it to someone who has the number ran. The shitty part of all this is from the inside looking out it ha to be Someone who knows me. To many variables, dogs were home, they are barkers and go nuts when someone comes over. Neighbors were home and heard nor a peep. Toss in the fact I'm on a tail end of a divorce and it makes you think.

And I'm sure you are wondering, I didn't kill a gobbler. They kicked my butt for 3 days. Weird season to say the least.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

  11. I know it's a long shot.

    Hello CWT,

I don't post very much but given the circumstances I need to. My home was broken into this past weekend while I was turkey hunting. Amongst cash and a few others things they took my rifle. I was lucky enough to have my shot guns with me so they weren't able to get those. I know the market for a 30-06 is small these days so I want to try and put the bug in people's ear. The hunting community in the valley is large but small.

So if anyone comes across a marlin xl7 30-06 with a bushnell trophy scope please let me know. The rifle had a camo sling and one or the cap was shaved on the side.

Although its not a hand me down, I killed my first deer with this gun and one day wanted to hand it down so it has personal value to me.

    Thanks.
