exercise to help strengthen muscles for drawing bow?
Viper replied to Tac's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
You can simulate pulling a bow with the weighted cable machine at the gym, or with the exercise rubber bands you can use at home. Work both arms or you will get lopsided....one lat bigger than the other. -
I am still in the "buying points" phase. I bought my first point last year. I am not quite able to make the trip yet. Maybe in the next couple years.

I used some old cedar fencing, 3 slats high and reinforced the sideswith rebar stakes. Then filled with a sandy loam mix from Pioneer Materials....about 1/3 the cost of bag stuff from Home Depot. Just finished planting today. Tomatoe, strawberries, mellon, green beans, bell pepper, carrots, beets, sweet onion, garlic, lettuce...

I just finished three raised beds...6x3x12" deep. We were just talking about what we will plant today or tomorrow. Definitely tomatoes and green beans. We have been harvesting lettuce, kale, spinich, and some tomatoes most of the winter.

How many inches of antler can a coues buck put on in one year?
Viper replied to Pixman's topic in The Campfire
That is an incredible buck! The others in the calendar are very nice as well. It was nice to meet you and thanks for a very well done calendar! -
What's the catch? Do you have to have a native guide. There's gotta be a catch or everyone would be doing it.

I've always been a fan of 12's. IMO, good all around power. I got a great deal on Leica 12x50 Trinovids 10 years ago. I still smile everytime I sit behind them. Honestly, I've never used 15's but my buddy has them and I find as much game as he does. I've had to send them back to Leica once for a focus issue. It was free due to the VIP warranty offered 10 years ago. I understand they are pretty stingy with that now. I've read that folks had to pay a nominal fee for repairs. Swaro and Vortex warranty is probably better. People seem to like Vortex...but seems to be a path to a future upgrade to Swaros. You may still want a small spotter for more detail. I have a Zeiss 65mm, but don't like packing it in the hills. I am considering a 50mm Vortex Razor for that.

Most likely shot off. Sadly, I hear stories of it every season. Good to know they can survive it.

Yes, told dad, now 89, I wanted to replace the 4x Weaver tube on that Gamemaster and he was not too pleased. Dad, "Don't need to take shots past 150 yards with the .06!" Me, "I got my Coues at 309 yards with the .243" in Nov, pop." Dad, "You sound mighty sure it was 309 yards!?" Spent the next few minutes explaining Range Finders. Was a good visit. ...and Dad said, "I swear". LOL

Awesome pics and heritage! Where's all the high-tech clothing, long-range rifle systems, and $60k trucks?! Man...things were so simple and fun back then.

Eberlestock X2...newer one with aluminum frame...less than $200.

Thanks a lot for the info! So, do you think a large would fit me better? 6' 170lbs 35" waiste 32" inseam.
-
I've been looking hard at these...but I believe I need a large (35 waist, 32 inseam). Since you have experience with them, I have a couple questions...since FL won't reply. Do they have an elastic waste band? (Looks like it does in the product video and pics). Do they hold up in the AZ brush and catclaw? Are they too noisy for bow hunting? Thanks
