That's a heck of a buck, congratulations!

My son Garrett made a video of his friend Jon's hunt this weekend. There is one typo to clean up, but thought I would post it anyway.

It is the time of year, they can't turn it off. They may not be as active in the hotter weather, but the days are getting shorter and heat can't turn off biology. Enjoy the hunt!

Glad to see you salvaged your weekend with a real nice bear. Too bad some POS messed with your stand. Messing with another guys stuff is bad enough, but the disrespect he showed towards his deer by desecrating it, is beyond scum. Karma rewarded you for taking the high road! Congratulations.

It is easy for a lot of us to ramble about our fears, whether rational or not. Then there are those who live this everyday through their service. They have seen the man behind the curtain. Their words of caution carry a lot of weight.

I have been in some remote areas of the border units each of the last two weekends. This is where I live and where I hunt, no plans of changing, but I do worry about a group of radicals making a name for themselves by attacking America on our own soil on 9/11. Attack or no attack, I will keep hunting these units!

I am very fearful that September 11 could be a bad day somewhere near the boarder. ISIS is well funded and organized. They might use the southern border to access the US. If so, they will not risk being caught by driving across the country to a major city, therefore everyday American towns within a few hours of the border need to be on alert.

There seems to be two schools of thought old powder: 1) it is fine as long as it has been kept sealed, 2) it looses some of its pop after a few years. What are the thoughts on this?

That is really cool! A few years ago I posted pictures of a white deer. Some of the members who know a bit about biology said it wasn't an albino, but rather a deer with leucism. Not sure if this is the same with this elk, maybe someone knowledgeable can weigh in on the subject. Amanda? Thanks for posting the great pictures.
