While shooting as a kid we did not use anything for hunting or practice. As a young adult I began using ear plugs whenever practicing, but not hunting. Now I try to use them whenever I shoot, but sadly it's a bit too late. I struggle to hear so many things and miss parts of conversations. If I could turn the clock back, I would do it different.

I sure miss your posts Lark, hope you stay around for a while.

The French guy accidently kicked the squirrel...he was actually trying to surrender to it!

Well, at least it would be easy to skin.

HAS THE TIME COME?? WOLVES BEING RELEASED IN PRESCOTT AREA??
Pine Donkey replied to a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Just wait until they eat a tourist at the Grand Canyon or an elementary age kid waiting at a predawn bus stop. Once that happens the humans will be villainized. -

Congratulations to these kids, their parents and coaches. Way to represent! -

IMR4350 is awesome...I'll trade you some for that H1000! -
Thanks for the info. The more I learn, the more I have to fear. Just this week I have learned that ticks can mess you up bad, and that a safe May not be "safe". No wonder ignorant people are so happy!

I looked around quite a bit and ended getting mine from Costco. The price was good, and I talked the delivery driver into dropping it were it needed to go rather than in the drive. He ever tried to refuse the tip I gave him.

Thanks for the info Amanda. Now I have to worry about both rattlesnakes and ticks. Lol. I am glad Paul's recovery is going well...he'll be back out there with you in no time.

He is growing the frame of a toad. Let us know if he wraps and adds good tines. One encouraging indicator that he may develop decent points is that he is growing respectable eye guards.

Just to help your head explode...be sure you have a full understanding of the differences between First Focal Plane and Second Focal Plane. Just sayin...

Tried it once years ago in a canoe...bad idea! What looked like a little flow where we put in was much more in the narrower areas. Also, there was so much debris in the water. We got torn up by branches that were thrown in the river bed after trimming the pecans. We started in the area where sewage ponds are now, about a mile south of Duval Road, and got out about a mile before Helmet Peak road. Drug the canoe across the field to the Los Arbalos trailer park. We thought is would be fun and crazy...it just sucked! If you are going to try it, watch the weather down south, but also watch for storms on the South West part of the Huachucas as this area feeds into the Santa Cruz.

Wow, great video, thanks for posting!

Prayers on the way for Paul's quick recovery.

A few months ago I trader, on CWT, a pound of H4350 for a brick of .22’s. Some of the PM's (after the deal was done) were brutal...calling me a fool, stupid, etc. bottom line is, I needed some .22's because my wife bought a new pistol, and the other guy got some powder he needed and I had no use for. I was happy, he was happy, really doesn't matter what others felt about the deal. Personally I think I am getting the shaft when I pay 3.70 for diesel fuel, and wow beef prices! However, I do not have my own oil well and refinery, also haven't worked the ranching business for years, therefore when my demand meets their supply, I pony up the cash...it's better than being a hitch hiking vegan.

These are pictures a of a Unit 1 bull taken back in May. I have not heard or seen anything about this bull being killed. Just wondering if he made it through the first two seasons. Sorry for the poor quality, they were taken with a cell phone at a long distance.

Nice to see a celebrity making a class move...so many are just jack wagons!

It's not just that the liberals are spineless, it's that we hurt our backs because we are always carrying them! Sjvcon, good luck with the surgery. I almost had surgery on my L5S1 after 3 weeks laying on the floor. Did the MRI and scheduled the surgery after the doctor told me it was my only option to long term relief. There was a two week wait so he sent me for an epidural injection to provide some temporary relief. The injection worked so well I cancelled the surgery...that was 17 years ago. I did have a couple follow up injections but haven't had one in 12 years. As you said everyone is different. My cousin did the injections and had no relief at all. Point is, do what you need to ensure you have a functional back. Life is too short to spend in constant pain. Good luck; hope your boy kills a toad!

Makes me sad. I love the Alpine/Nutrioso area and spend a lot of time there. During the summer it seems that Phoenix heads to the mountains. Payson, Showlow, and Pinetop along with space and dirt roads work like a filter that keeps Phoenix to the a West of Alpine. Paving this road, after paving it from Sunrise to Big Lake, just weaken that filter.

.300 RUM load suggestions?
Pine Donkey replied to rcgcu's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
For heavier bulletin, 208-220 use a slower burn rate powder like Retumbo, H1000 or 7828. 4350 works well with the mid weight 165-180, bullets. -
Good looking gun Justin. I look forward to seeing a pic of it in front of a toad whitetail. Have you worked up a load yet. I am sure you will be starting with 208 Hornady pushed by Rutumbo. Let me know what you come up with. We are going to move to a 208 round and see how well it performs.
