Large buck on Ebay
GRONG replied to AZcoues_addict's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I'd bet if you had those DNA tested they'd come back as some eastern specie of wt. No chance it's coues if you ask me, even though nobody did. -
Ok it looks as if I'm the moron for realizing there was already a post about this buck........

Right on Tyson! Now cut that crap out, you're making me look bad........ I think I've found about 6 this year.

A friend of mine has found 4 or 5 years of sheds off of this bull. He picked up the last shed back in the fall of '04 and it was that spring's shed. He has pounded it looking for the other side and just could never come up with it. He said he remembers seeing a lot of footprints in that same area during that spring so he's thinking that someone has it already. We're thinking that it has been found and it was probably a fresh shed so it should look pretty awesome! Here I am holding 2 antlers off this bull, they do not match. The right antler in my right hand is the one we'd like to get the match to. Had either antler not been broken we're guessing the bull in the 410-415" range. Here is Chris with all his sheds from this bull that he has, other than a single he found in '04 that was from the spring of '03s drop that isn't pictured here. Any help would be appreciated. Email me at antlerboy@commspeed.net if you have any info. Thanks, Josh Epperson

Good thinking Tyler but that shed was found by Van Clark in unit 9 back in the mid 90's. I know cause I measured it for him for the NASHC record book. azhunter23 that thing is a stud! Hella 4ths and 5ths! Sheesh, everyting on it is big. Ya man get some other pics of it if you can cause I'd sure love to see them!

For those of you who didn't go to the shoot you really missed out. Only half the amount of shooters from last yr. Good for the shooters but bad for the Desert Bowhunters Club. The weather was UNREAL! I set up the toilets on Friday morning and it was snowing. Freakin crazy! Saturday it snowed/rained off and on all day. Just an amazing experience to enjoy that kind of weather at the end of May no less. I wore shorts on Sunday........ Here's my boy enjoying the targets.

I'm tellin you folks, there must be some sort of magnetic pull to shed antlers when I'm wearing my orange shirts. First thing yesterday morning after I parked I threw up the binos and spotted a dang nice elk antler about 3/4 of a mile away right on top a ridge. For the life of me I don't know how it lasted there for the approx 2yrs it laid there w/o being seen. Good for me! Anyway, looked around for a bit for the match but couldn't find it. About an hour later and a half-mile away I glassed it up in the bottom of a small canyon. Seriously short beams in the 45-47" range I'd guess but still a 350" class bull. Much later yesterday afternoon I walked over into another canyon and checked some oak thickets for coues sheds. As I crept along I jumped a good buck. I didn't think I'd see him again so I kept on sheddin'. I worked my down the slope and kept hearing a pfffftt kinda sound like if someone was blowing a snot rocket (sorry that's just all I can think of). I watched closely and spotted a dang nice buck shaking his head snorting. He kept smacking his left nostril with his left hind leg and he looked very irritated with something in there. I watched him for probably 5 min and the whole time he kept snorting, hitting his nose and shaking his head. I was thinking that maybe those nasty bot-fly larva were in there. YUCK!!! Must be awful having a dang worm in your nasal area.......... Anywho, after he finally got a wondeful wiff of Sir GRONG and vacated the area I continued my search. I hadn't gone more than 150 yards when I came across this shed that is off that very buck!!! After takin pics and continuing my search about 15 minutes later I looked up the slope and that same buck was trotting along side me at about 45 yards. He must have wanted his antler back It was pretty neat getting to see him and then find a shed off of him. I continued my search, walking slow and watching all around me when I walked up on this HOG! It scores 46 2/8". One of the better sheds I've found in recent years. I found the same side off this buck 3 yrs ago so that's pretty cool. Sun was quickly going down so I reluctantly took off and about a 1/4 mile down I walked up on a small 3pt set. What a day......

A friend of mine shared this picture with me, it's of his girlfriend Carrie Robedeau (sp?) and her insanely cool coues shed she just found the other day! What a PIG!! Congrats on an awesome coues shed Carrie and we hope you find the match someday! And yes they did get the elk rack in the trees behind her.

HA!!!!!! Steve you're a RIOT!!!

You need to have the shirts "magnetized" by GRONG himself before expecting the mother load of sheds to end up in your truck at the end of the day.

No I hear ya but so you know, those sheds from that video I took are ROTTING in a guys back yard as we speak!!!!!!!!!!! I've known about the guy having them for about the past 3 years or so. Just kills me......... I've got 5 sheds off of that bull here in my garage and I'd love to have those sheds but the guy wanted a lot of money for them and they're OLD chalk and so I left them laying there in his yard as I found them there. Sad.....

I must be tired but that comment floored me!!!

Oh now that's funny!!!! I wear my camo's out shed hunting cause I can get a pair of camo pants super dirty and it doesn't show. Plus I like sneaking around thru the woods like a lion anyway.....

Thanks everyone!! heck Amanda, I'll take a GRONG orange long sleeve.... or three!! It'd be hilarious seeing the hillsides lightened up with guys in orange everywhere shed hunting. It'd look like opening day on a deer hunt in Utah. What a riot this has turned into. I just can't help but wear orange out there for some stupid reason. Wish I was wearing it when I found that monster NT head a month ago though, that woulda been classic!
