    good news

Mike it's nothing against you but I'm with Keith on this one. BS on the AZG&F! They should throw themselves a banquet, after this years hunting season ends, for hunting our deer herd into near extinction. All's it is is a business for them, they could give a rats behind about what's good for the herds. They'd give giraffe and elephant tags if someone was stupid enough to buy them. It is truly a shame that they manage our game like a business, all they see is dollar signs and can't see 10 years down the road. They should be ashamed of themselves and their entire organization. But..... it is a goverment run operation that should explain a lot of it. Josh

Dewey I didn't know that was you. I got your title confused with someone else that has the word Apache in their title. Congrats on the nice sheds. I just talked with Shawn on the phone and he told me about you guys finding those, pretty funny! Thanks for posting those pics, that's pretty cool. Here's a pic of the set I bought and sorta lost on the highway. I lost the left antler dammit!!

After all this time of seeing your posts on this site I had no idea that was you. That's awesome you've found that many so far. A kid from Flag tonight brought me nearely a 1/2 ton of antler and all of it was from 5B, 9 and 10 from the past couple of years. He said he's been in 9 a little lately and it made me think of that sweet set you and your boy found in the road up there last year. Anyway, send me an email at antlerboy@commspeed.net and we'll shoot the breeze there. Thanks Mike, Josh
  5. Dittos to all that's been said above me. Here's to a successful surgery and a speedy recovery Mike! Thanks for bringing all this to our attn so that we may have you in our thoughts and prayers as we all need to look out for each other.

    Hunt'n season over

NICE!! Is that Shawn in the first picture Dan? I know that's Dewey in the 2nd. Right on. Yesterday I met some guys from your hometown that had a bunch for me to buy. When I say bunch I don't mean 10 antlers, they must have had 50 antlers, all found in about 2 weeks. Biggest was a 390ish 8pt shed, awesome shed! I'll try to post a pic of it manana. Funny story, I was down there last week and I bought a real nice set right at dark, like a 395" type set that was chewed up REAL bad. Anyway, I got to Globe to meet some other guys and when I got in the back of the truck one of them was FREAKIN GONE!!! I didn't even go back to see if I could find it since it was dark. At least it wasn't one of those high dollar brownies!! But still it sucked! Later guys PS: Brian, that April 1st rule only applied to the WMAT in years past, not San Carlos, there is no season there.

Man I'm a little behind in my cw.com forum action, how'd I miss this one?!?! I'd love to buy any kinds of antlers you're willing to sell. The only one's I don't buy are the old rotten ones. You can email me personally if you wish at antlerboy@commspeed.net. 111, Have I ever bought yours before? I don't know your last name? Thanks for the plug though I appreciate it!! Josh
  8. For the life of me I can't find those pics of that guy that killed that big 112" buck with his bow. I remember he said he'd missed it 2wice already and then it bedded down 35 yards from him and he whacked him then. Anyone know? Thanks in advance for the help.

    My 2005 HAM hunt

I know what you mean, down in 36B I've seen more deer sign than anywhere I've ever been before. Right on the border there were so many deer trails and rubs I couldn't believe it. I've hunted in A quite a bit too but the amount of illegals down there keeps me from going down there too much anymore.

    My 2005 HAM hunt

I can't believe you Amanda, wasting your time hunting a poor helpless javalina. HOW COULD YOU?!?!?! It wasn't hurting anyone or anything. My soul hurts for the little lady. YA RIGHT!!! Great pig there sister. This green up has got me so jazzed I think I'll just help myself to an archery elk tag this year. Here's a pic of a pig I helped a guy to down in 36C on Friday. One shot with his .250 at 100 yards and we were done. We saw plenty of whitetails down there and most of them were still rutting! I've never been down in that country that time of year, it was awesome! Here's the piggins,

    Spot and Stalk

Good call there KWP. Tree hunting is a rush too and can be EXTREMELY boring all in the same day. Watching a trophy sized buck walk in your direction has to be the biggest rush I've ever felt in my life! Then to actually get a chance and the wherewithall to pull your bow back is another story. When I killed my second archery Coues buck from a stand, soon after I let the string go and watched the buck only go 35 yards before kissing the dirt, I tell ya. I tell you I about fell out of the tree I was shacking so bad! I could barely balance. I got the crap out of the tree as fast as I could so I wouldn't risk falling off the limbs I was standing on. It was truly awesome!! I stalked a small 3x3 down in 36C several years ago to within 25 yards with my Danner's still on. I couldn't believe it myself. He was bedded behind a big clump of bear grass, it was perfect. I stood there for about 20 minutes just waiting the sucker out when I saw a doe stand up about 40 yards off to my left. She looked right at me and I knew the gig was just about to be up. As soon as I got to full draw that buck shot out of that bear grass like he'd got a wiff straight out of my shorts, he never looked back. I led the deer about 10' at 30 yards now and let it rip. I missed the deer by 10' behind him he was moving so fast. I just sat there and thought that was the coolest thing I'd ever done till I had those bucks walk under my stand. I guess it's all the end result that matters. Some of us can't handle the thought of sitting restlessly in a stand for hours or days at a time w/o seeing JACK!, and others can. I prefer to sit stands cause I know if I can control my scent as best as I know how and put myself in a place the just has that "look", then eventually I'll be in the right place at the right time and it'll pay off for me. Each ways of hunting has it's ups and downs. Sitting a stand keeps me from getting stickers in my feet I know that much. Anywho, that's my $.08.

    Hunter finds corpse

Oh my gosh these stories are nuts! One of these days my turn to find a body is coming up. Just this past fall I told a friend where to go check for elk in 19A. He was checking a tank for tracks then walked out to the edge of the rim where he spotted a skull. Thinking it was a bear or lion he cruised over and grabbed it. It turned out to be a bleached out human skull. He got looking around and found a bunch more bones then got the crap out of there. He called the Sherrif's office and returned and hiked some fat investigator clear into this spot where they could do their investigation. He said he was hurting pretty good when he got there(this is early Sept). Pretty nuts! I bet I've walked w/in 50 yards of where he found it several times. Another story is a friend of mine was hiking out of a HUGE canyon here in 6A looking for elk antlers when he smelled something dead. He got the wind just right and started to fight the brush uphill towards it. He finally spotted a camo jacket hanging in a tree. He told me he hoped the ol boy who the jacket belonged to had a good rifle too. Well when he finally got there what he smelled was a rotten elk carcass and the dude just forgot his jacket in the tree. He was pretty nervous for a bit there. A friend of mine that works for the Sherrif's office here in Yavapai Cty told me that a whitetail hunter off of the Dugas road, here in unit 21 several yrs ago, looked off a bluff he was glassing from and spotted some black plastic wrapped up in electrical cord. It ended up being two naked women that had been murdered, encased in the stuff and thrown over the cliff to rot. There's some real sicko's out there. He also told me that any exit north of Phoenix towards Camp Verde is not a place to pull over and sleep or pee after dark. Every murdering sicko looking to dump a body from Phx heads north. You want to find a body, he told me, just start looking around the exits, especially Bloody Basin and Badger Spgs exits. No thanks.

    AZ Jan Coues and Muley

    SWEE-HEE-HEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Like Ultramag already said, I think she's packin something already. Shave that head and let her mustache grow and that's a dude. I hope someone finds that appealing cause I sure don't, other than being camp pack mule.
  16. One of the days last week that dad and I were out looking for lions, Dad found this 4x4 carp that had been killed by a small female lion. A couple days after she got it the coyotes found it and finished it off for her therefore ruining our chances of us getting her out of the gene pool. Maybe next time.
  17. Ya I hear ya Mike. By the way, did you forget a "R" in the last word of your post? If not, I have no clue what that word means.

    Holy cow Josh!

Oh OK but the buck has a 3x2 frame you bunch o' sillys. The right antler is a 3pt and the left a 2pt with a cheater off the back of the G2. It's from Apache County. Pickup head. Almost forgot, it actually grosses 114 6/8". It was scored incorrectly as a 3x3 with a gross of over 120". AZGriz, I'm just "the man" holding it. I wish I was "the man" who found it. Thank you though.
  19. Jeff, I'll let Dad know you said hi. His email is dogman@commspeed.net if you're interested in dropping him a line. Desertbull, I hear ya buddy! Ultramag, check out my website it has all the info on there. Mike, so far we've only caught one and let it go, small female w/kittens. We've trailed several but they seem to always be one step ahead of us so far. dang those things cover the country. Anyone ever say lion hunting is easy can come along with us anytime. later on amigos!

    Holy cow Josh!

Glad you guys like them but GG85 I have no clue what 2pt you're talking about.
  21. Word on the street is that there was a 139" buck taken by bow last Thursday in the Catalinas. Anyone with some info you better cough it up.
  22. Ultramag, yes we only use dogs. It beats spending a million hours behind the binos looking for them unless of course you looking for lions above the hot springs along the verde. LOL! Anyone who gets a lion w/o dogs and brags about it is a fool. They were only in the right place at the right time and "accidentally" saw and killed the lion. Using dogs is the only effective means at harvesting a cat. Actually watching the dogs work is most of the fun, a lot like bird hunting. Also, just cause you hunt anything with dogs be it bears or lions is never easy like some would lead others to believe. Boy, where did that come from?!?!?! Calm down antlerboy, get a grip!
  23. Happy Birthday senior! Hope the greys aren't catchin up.
