  1. I was fortunate to meet Riley and his dad just hours before he shot this buck. Had a nice visit. Later that evening My son and I saw them driving out, heck Jeff didn't need headlights, Riley's smile was so big and bright. Congrats on a fine buck. Nice to meet the both you. Maybe we'll see each other up there again sometime. Derek.

  2. My best friend shot a nice buck this morning. We mesured him to be 103 5/8. Yesterday he had 2 bucks come in 10 min. after getting in his stand. They were of another species and didn't have shot. He thought to himself I have Oct. whitetail tag and I'm not going to shoot a fork Mulie. Next morn. He gets in the stand and 50 mins. later while glassing across the canyon he hears rocks rolling and this deer comes up over the berm at 30 yrds. goes behind a tree allowing him to draw , the deer takes his last drink and dies in the water. I'm waiting for my son to download pictures to send to Amanda. I hope you all enjoy. We have been doing this for a long time and it finally paid off. I'm so proud of him. Next big bulls in the rut.

  3. I'm going with my new Polaris 600 on my 14 year old son's first elk hunt, He's got new camo, boots, and pack. We'll be using our coleman sleeping bags I bought 21 years ago still in great shape. Have my first elk hide with hair on it for an extra blanket. Anyone use thiers for a blanket? It weighs about 20 lbs. and keeps you real warm. Also got a new dynatron tripod with pistol grip that I got on e-bay for $50. Good luck yall.

  4. We were in 23 this weekend and went three for three. Friday at 5:40 and 6:20 am. And saturday at 8:00. I will send pictures to Amanda. This was the 5th. turkey tag I had and my first tom. It was the most exciting hunt I've been on. They were going crazy. Love sick boy's. Who'd think. Then the rain came. Made a mess of the road coming out and I know it is going cost a lot at the car wash. It is going to be tasty. Good luck everyone else.

  5. On mothers day 2001 while on our way to our turkey spot south of Williams we came upon a young man who split a friends car around a pine tree. On fire, just happened. car parts and child car seats all over the road. Horrible sight. I always say a little prayer for his mother on mothers day. It is an image in my mind I will never forget. I followed up a couple of days later with the williams paper to find out who he was so I would have a name to remember him by.

  6. Ernesto, years ago 1999, my buddy and I were hunting in 36c on the King Anvil ranch. We were set up over the top of a ridge when we heard the wiz of a bullit go right over the top of our heads and the report of a rifle. We looked at each other and both said what was that? Seconds later it happend again. I stood up and 100 yds. away was a guy standing there pointing his rifle in our direstion. I started waving my arms and yelled What are you shooting at? His reply, I think it was a cayote? What? You think? Scared us half to death. Thankfully I have half left. After that he continued to walk right through the canyon we were glassing and we switched to plan b and were successful that afternoon in a different canyon. Sorry to hear later that he fell and broke his ankle. the doctor said it was broke I think? I love that ranch. Where did you camp?
