Lost all my guns in a boating accident last year....ammo too.

As much as this post has entertained, Cornbagger is still my all time favorite, followed by the taxidermy post where the guy's lion came back looking like a sick version of the Pink Panther. Those were the all time classics.

I bought Lowa's. More than $200...but they have some models you can get on sale for that. So far best boot I have ever owned.

Hey man...I might be getting older, but I can still throw down with the best of 'em!!!

Maybe this is the wrong forum, but someone on here used to post photos of rifles stocks they had been doing custom paint work on. Anyone know who that was?

Best guys I know are in Gilbert/Chandler Area. John and Curtis at All Start Electric. Never had an issue with their work or their pricing. John flat out tells you like it is. I brought one into him once and he said "Don't pay me to fix it. Not worth it. Sell it for parts. There is no money spent on this that is worth it." Somebody else would have been happy to take my money and have me throw good after bad.

What's the Spec on the Barnes 180's? Have a picture of that tag?

I am looking to do a build, and am wondering if people with the Proof Research Barrels feel they are really worth the $. Also, in .284/7mm, what twist would you go with? Seems like all but the largest will stabilize with 1 in 9 or 1 in 8.# … the 195s need a 1 in 8 (at some elevations/temps/speeds). Is there a downside doing 1 in 8 for the smaller (140-150s) bullets? I am doing either a 7RM or 28 Nosler … can't decide yet. Action is setup for a 7RM now, and that may indeed be where I stay (unless I want to do the STW route). Any advice on that?

Great information "recurveman". Thanks for the input.

Oh crap … I was there over the weekend looking at property. Ok. Well … I will do some looking down here at Sportsmans to compare with the Swarovski's. If there isn't a monumentally huge difference I might be interested.

Where are you located if I wanted to look through them?

Defiance Machine -- Controlled Round Feed
sjvcon posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Anyone use one of these? How do you like them. There are very few CRF type actions out there in the Custom Market (ARC, Defiance, McMillan, Dakota, Montana … any I am missing), and because I grew up on Mausers and Winchesters I am stuck on them. I like that Defiance and ARC are Model 700 Compatible and can use all the parts available for the 700. If you've used them, how do you like them? How do they compare with other actions? Quality of workmanship? -

Did not know Bighorn made a CRF. I will have to look at that. Thanks! -

Defiance Machine -- Controlled Round Feed

Which ARC do you have? I had read a couple of places where the machining really needed to be smoothed/cleaned up on those. Not sure if that was an anomaly? That is why I started researching the other ones. I'd stick with my Winchesters, but that isn't as much aftermarket for the flat bottoms. Love them … really do. Just trying to get something with more options that is still CRF. -
Sure. To each their own. I don't particularly think the guy is a decent guy after he hacked on a guy's wife (sexual innuendo) and then defended doing that when I called him out … all related posts taken down. But if that's what you roll with … that's up to you. Everyone has their own opinions … I like mine, but that doesn't mean they are right. They are right for me.
