Is this a 5 Shot or 6? -
Any of you out there who are selling large ticket items on Craigslist, be wary. I have gotten more inquiries on my quads that have turned out to be SCAMS. Someone sends a response that they want information about your item. Usually is it still available? Do you have pictures (even when they are posted in the ad)? What is the condition? When you respond they offer to buy it using Paypal and have a shipping company pick it up, as they are conveniently out of town. First one of these I got made me leery and I researched. What they do is reverse the charges by disputing the payment through their credit card once the merchandise is picked up by the shipper (who I am not sure is or isn't involved in the scam). Since that first one, I have had 5 more inquiries doing the same thing. One saying they wanted to buy my "car" ... these idiots can't even get it straight on a scam. Last one REALLY PISSED ME OFF as the guy claimed to be in the military and in Afganistan. Dead give away was that he responded to two different ads for similar items in EXACTLY THE SAME WORDING. Using a story that he was military and serving in a war zone really irked me ... Just be wary. You should not accept Paypal for large ticket sales on Craigslist. They warn against it, and I'm here to tell you there are a bunch of scumbags out there trying to rip people off.

I don't know what the difference in energy is at 800 yards with a 180 vs a 200 grain, but if you shoot the 180's well, I'd stick with that. As to the energy, you will get a lot of debate over that issue. And it is really more a matter of how the energy is delivered to the animal that will determine it's ability to get up and go, or to drop on the spot. The better expansion you get, typically the better the transfer of energy to the animal. I love Barnes, and I use them a whole lot. Killed my first big Mulie with a TSX and it rolled up right where I hit it. The knock, however, is that at lower velocities it will not expand like a an Accubond or Partition (at least so "they" say). You get out to 800 yards, your velocity is starting to drop a lot faster than in the first 500 or so. If I were planning a Super Long Range hunt, I might use something that is known to have better expansion at lower velocities. Someone is certain to say I am full of it, and that is fine. They may say 1,000 or 1,500, or even 2,000 ... all numbers I've heard. But if your bullet isn't expanding, are you doing more than just poking a hole? I don't know ... I think you can get a heck of a lot closer than 800 to a rutting bull ... and if you get half closer that Barnes is a winner in my book (like I said ... I love 'em). Then again, if you don't you will need that longer shot ... so ???????????

Back in '93 or so, my buddy and I were archery hunting the Kaibab. After a few days of no luck, we ventured down into a deep, narrow canyon hoping to find some fresh sign and a well used game trail. All we found at the bottom was a 3x Mulie Buck impaled on the branch of a downed tree. Looked like it tried to jump higher and farther than it could. Was probably dead for weeks before we stumbled on it. Should have tagged it....was the only Buck I got close to that trip.

Have not used the Z Plex. I have a Zeis with a Mildot that I like pretty well. Glass is good. Just wished I had known more about scopes when I bought it ... I'd have canned the idea of the Mildot with turrets that are in MOA.

Tires will be to me either Tuesday PM or Wednesday AM.

Well ... 12 years after my Uncle (really a cousin, but I called him Uncle) passed away, my Aunt is finally selling off his gun collection. She has several that I am trying to help her sell. I am getting them from her a couple at a time to see if I can't speed things up for her. First Round of Guns: Smith & Wesson Model 19-3. This is a Nickel Plated .357 Magnum with a 6" Barrel and Wood Grip. Comes with a Galco Holster. She'd like to get $700 for that, but would listen to a reasonable offer. I almost forgot ... it doesn't look like it has ever been shot ... or if it has, VERY few rounds. Browning BAR Manufactured in 1968 in Belgium. is a 7mm Remington Magnum. It This is a Grade I from what I have read ... so does not have the carvings or engravings. Just a checkered stock. Gun has some minor wear, but is in excellent shape for it's age. Comes with an older Weaver 3x9. I have seen these guns anywhere from $650 to $900 depending on condition. She'd like to get $700 for this one as well. Other guns she has that I will list later (unless someone has interest now) are as follows: Three Weatherby Mark V Deluxe from West Germany (.257, 7mm, and .300 ... all WBY Magnum). A Manlicher Shoenauer in .30-06 (extremely nice rifle). A Marlin 336 with scope ... shows some use, but not bad. A Berretta Side By Side Double Barrel 12 Gauge ... very ornate. Couple of assorted .22lr ... don't remember the brands right off ... Winchester and one other. Smith & Wesson Model 629-1 ... this one is a beauty ... extremely well kept. 6" Barrel. Seems like there are a few others as well ... have to break out the list. Anyway, I have the two listed at the top of this post with me. Let me know if you want to see photos or if you'd like to look at them. Thanks.

Yep. Manfried always liked the best of everything. I'll take some photos next time I am up her way and post them.

Figured to do it a few at a time ... don't have room for all her guns here with me ... too many of my own. If you have interest in one or more, let me know and I can PM with what she's asking based on Blue Book Values and/or market analysis.

Way I understand it, Roberts came down on the side of the Conservatives in every way EXCEPT the Individual Mandate. I'll have to confirm that. By calling this a Tax, and it his writings on it, he's given the people the way to get rid of it ... actually two ways. One is refile the suit as a claim that a Tax Bill initiated in the Senate. The second is voting this Economic/Personal Liberties TERRORIST out of office in November ... along with all the Progressive Trash in Congress (both House and Senate). I'd suggest any of you Elder Statesmen/women out there who have 18-30+ year old kids talk to them a great deal prior to the election. Try to undo the brainwashing that their Liberal teachers in high school and college have done. We have a whole generation out there who think things should be handed to them, and that they have a RIGHT to SUCCESS, rather than a RIGHT TO PURSUE SUCCESS by their own hard work and diligence. I'm not saying all kids in that age group are that way ... but boy have I run into a lot of them. Let them know that unless they want to see their loved ones start getting denied "routine" life saving procedures like stints, pacemakers, dialysis, etc., they need to help get this man and his cronies out before the "over 70-75 Death Panels" start denying treatment. Enough of my rant. I know who I am voting for ... the only other guy who can win. Any other vote is a vote for the current Cloward and Pivens Clown. -
So no kidding guys and gals ... WHERE'S LARK???? He used to be a fixture on this site ... haven't seen a post from him in a long time.
