For weight at that price, look at the Christensen Ridgeline FFT or Standard. Good bang for the buck. FFT is a little more than $2K new...but used you can find them.

At 500 yds, a Creedmoor has almost as much energy with a much lighter bullet, flatter trajectory, and less recoil. Gets even more in the Creedmoor's favor at longer range. At least for most factory loads.
