Disappointing Load Results 7mm-08
DCS replied to rossislider's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've been reloading since 1969,and learned something new a couple of years ago. Most of my loads would shoot pretty good, but I had a couple of rifles that didn't like anything.Midway had a sale on the rubber doughnuts that slide down the barrel. They are made by Sims laboratories, and you can buy them for 15.00 or less.I tried one on each of those rifles, and both of them shot groups of an inch or less.It was almost imbarrasing,to think of all the powder I had shot up over the years trying to work up loads.Just an idea. -
A friend of mine was turned back yesterday from going into 23 by the forest service because of the fire that is burning east of Punkin Center. It was pretty bad after driving from Prescott with all your gear for a week.

What happened was the only way that it could be handled. My father was the chief of law enforcement from 1950-1972 for the dept.I personally know of three times the law was broken, and the person turned themselves in,citations were issued. The first instance involved the chairman of the comissions son shooting at a buck antelope up by Flagstaff, hit a doe and was cited. The second involved a warden from Prescott, shot a some geese on a pond-one shot two birds over limit. He wrote himself a ticket, paid a fine. The last one was the regional supervisors son from pinetop, shot at some ducks flying over, and killed the only redhead in the flock, which was a protected species. The dad issued a citation, the son pleaded guilty, and the judge made the son learn all the species of ducks in Arizona.Everyone makes mistakes in their lives, try to learn from them.

Casey,I've shot a bunch of whitetails with my 7 mag.,but I won a 257 Weatherby at the deer banquet. Now that I have a leftover tag, I need to know your load again.I've been through the forum and can't find it.Thanks in advance.

Cool video,as everyone else stated, its your hunt, and what it means to you.I would rather pack him 7miles out than a monster anyway!!!

You should have a great hunt,my cousin runs cattle south of 60 about 40 miles. They haven't had much rain yet,but alot better than last year.I've seen some nice bucks driving on 52 to see him in the past.
