I found a black case in the middle of the road at 7:15 AM today at the intersestion of KOLB / 22nd in Tucson. Cars were going around it so it is not damaged. Arrows, Broadheads, and a release. Call Phil at 520-975-0830 if it is yours.

Mearns Opener - any reports?
Phil Carr replied to scoutm's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Went out two days with some really great dogs. Only two coveys, one with 4 birds and another with 7 or 8. Too many hunters and too few birds. The out of state hunters for the most part have not even arrived yet. The birds have not faired well this year. Lets hope the few birds out there, do not get beat up too bad. We had some great years, that brought a lot of attention to the Mearns. Lets also hope all of that attention does not effect the numbers for many years to come. It seems like we had some decent rain, a little later in the summer, but there is a lot of good cover. My feeling are that last year the numbers were down, and yet a lot of pressure was put on the few birds out there. It appears they just could not bounce back. It would be intreasting to hear the thoughts from the AZ Game and Fish are on the Mearns numbers. -
How do you get the deer blood smell out of your backpack?
Phil Carr replied to scoutm's topic in The Campfire
Take your pack to a coin operated laundry. Use the commercial front end loader machine. Will cost $5.00. Wash as you would normal lundry. I use cold water. Unzip all pockets. Let it run. Pack comes out perfect. Let it air dry. -
Thanks for the information. Traveling though the Douglas port will really reduce our travel time and allow us to get an afternoon hunt in. We are headed down on the 25th. I am guessing the Rut will be over. I would have liked to have made it down there this week, just could not jocky my schedule to make it happen. Happy New Year and safe hunting. Phil

I am looking for information from anyone that may know if you can enter and exit Mexico through Agua Prieta when traveling to hunt deer. I have hunted numerous time is Sonora, but have always traveled through Nogales. We will be hunting a ranch that is much closer to the port at Douglas, and this would save us a lot of travel time. I need to make sure that I can get the proper gun permits as well as being able to clear through the USDA when we return. Any information you can share is appreciated. Phil
