Definitely go with large. A medium will be too tight with layers. The only thing that i run true to size is my base layer. Kuiu is athletic fit so one size up is what you want

Ive been using the Kuiu teton soft shell for a couple months now. Super light and really warm for how thin it is. I totally recommend it! Only downside is no hood
