    Family Strengths

This is a great thread. It looks like it has been going for some time. I have my own development services company. I do entitlement work for real estate developers and have experience with construction management. As you can imagine, work is slow lately, so if any of you need any help with the above, let me know. RUT MULEY BUCK

Wow! What a stud of a buck. Wish I could get my wife to go even just to stay at a ranch house. I am sure I could go on a lot more trips if she would just go with me.

    What A Hunt!

Wow! Was that done without Camo? There is not a much better way to getted hooked on archery coues hunting than watching it through the binos. That's great!
  17. I too would be curious to know this. I have the SLC 10x42 Swaros. I love them but really want to increase the the distances I can use them for without having to go to a spotting scope. Does anyone use doublers that can shed some light in this for me?

    Another Buck to share !

That takes a lot of self control to pass something like that up. You must have know there was something bigger in there. Glad you were able to find him again. Quite the character.

    Wanted: Good Deer/elk rifle

That gun looks a little too high tech and pricey for me! My brother-in-law has never rifle hunted, only archery hunted. He now wants to start rifle hunting, but knows absolutely nothing about rifles. I am just partial to the WSM's and think they shoot great with factory rounds.

    Fobbed Coues Deer

Do the fobs slow down arrow flight much? Congrats on the beauty of a buck, huh!

    Finally joined coues

Welp... I have been following this website for some time now. I finally figured I would join and start off by posting a picture and story of what got me addicted to this coues hunting thing (which I never thought possible since I grew up hunting mulies in the high country). My brother, known as palivs2hunt on this site, told me about this area down south that was holding some monster coues bucks. Since I had gotten back into archery hunting again since being married, he convinced me to go down one afternoon in early September of 2007. We hiked the 2 miles to the hole and get set up, me in a ground blind that he and his buddy set built previouslyand him about 100 yards away up on a little bluff. After sitting for about 2 hours in the 95 degree heat I decided I would probably just take the first buck that came in. We had come up with some hand signals to communicate what each other was seing. I got a little bored and signal to my brother that I saw a buck and went to hold up my finger to show how big and just gave him the bird. Not 2 minutes later i noticed movement on the bluff he was sitting on and threw my swaros up to see him motioning and pointing emphatically to the water hole. I thought he was just screwing around with me so I didn't pay him much attention. The blind that was built was making use of a hole in the ground so I could not see the water without kneeling up. I looked back up to him and he was still pointing so I gave a little peak and saw this little forky with small eye guards at the water. I stuck an arrow in him at 40 yards. He went about 15 yards, played the wobble game and expired falling off the other side of the embankment. He's not super big, but he was my first coues and was a good starting point. I had to forfeit my rifle tag for that year, but it was totally worth it. I have not hunted mulies in the high country since. I also included a trail cam picture of my buck with 2 larger ones. I did not see this picture until after I shot mine. I probably would not have shot mine if I had seen this picture first. Oh well. Hope you all enjoyed my intro. I look forward to posting many more stories and pics. Best of luck to everyone.

    08 Coues sheds

Very impressive. I just hate finding skulls from lion kills and the such. Good collection though. Congrats.
