I have a Chinese SKS- not a Norinco import, with low serial # 213XXX,

    1956 Vintage

I also have 900 round of 7.62X39 Ammo to go with it.

325.00 for the rifle and 215.00 for the ammo.

I prefer to keep it as a package deal.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you

    Phil

  3. First off let me say that I think it is super that your daughter wishes to hunt and follow her father’s footsteps.

Please excuse my ignorance, but why are you concerned with a caliber that is good to 400 yards? My son shoots a 257 bob and I have him practice 100/200 yards and would not allow him to take a 300+ shot, at his age of 20 he does not have the experience necessary to complete the shot. I maybe old fashion, but due not allow the use of tripods and other accessories that limit the ability of the shooter but accent the ability of the rifle.

I was brought up that hunting was between a man (women) Rifle (Bow) and nature not a fixture that any fool could walk up to and look through a scope squeeze the trigger at something that is 500 yards and say “I got it”. Please do not get me wrong there are many hunters that practice and can make the long shots but not an 11 year old child. The 7mm-08 or comparable cartridge would work well for her as she develops her marksmanship at the range or out in the open.

Thank you for letting me vent on your post.

  4. Bill,

I looked through all of my books and could not find the load you are requesting, using W-760.

I did find this on line that is the closest using W-760.

I would also like to thank you for your many articles especially the one on Fagan lake back in the late 70’s as my father and I took a number of fish from that lake along a good many Deer and Javelina.

I took my son there numerous times also but the lake has deteriorated along with the game, such a shame.

    Thank you

  5. The trick is to find an Audiologist that you are comfortable with, as you will probably make more than one trip for adjustments. You need to be able to find one that "hears" what you can or cannot hear and understands when you tell them what is uncomfortable to you, or what sounds you hear well or you do not. You can buy the best Aids and hate them or you can get the run of the mill and be happy because the Audiologist works with you on the Fit and sound of the Aids, but if you are not willing to work and communicate it will not work. The set I have now cost me 5K and this is the 4th set over 18 years.

  6. redneck,

I have been wearing hearing aids since I was 31 and I am now pushing 50, I wear them in both ears all the time. The only problem that I encountered was with my 1st set and wind noise, with all of the digital enhancements available today that is no longer a problem. The mistake that most people make when getting hearing aids is they pick them up and then do not like the sound level or fit and then put them in a drawer never giving the Audiologist a chance to correct. I suggest that you first find an Audiologist that you are comfortable with as you will need to make a couple of trips to have them adjusted to fit you daily life style, most Audiologist do offer a 30 day trail period.

Hope this is a little helpful

    Phil
