Guess the Score - Sept 09
azcouesandelk replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
123 0/8!!! -
First item is an Ithaca Mag 10 Supreme with 32" barrel. It has a fixed full choke and is a great duck and goose gun. There are some marks on the stock but the metal has no marks. I am also going to throw in the case, sling mounts, 2 full boxes of Remington steel shot, 2 partial boxes of Federal steel shot and a full box and partial box of slugs. Asking $900 obo. This is a gun you really need to see to appreciate, the wood on this gun is magnificent! Second item is a Weatherby Vanguard chambered in .257 Weatherby Mag. This gun is brand new and has never been fired. I would like to get $375 for this rifle, but will accept reasonable offers. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

TTT 10 gauge is still available. Will accept reasonable offers.

Way to go Brian! That is a monster buck and a well earned buck! Keep up the good work!
-
Allen that is definately a tough call. I would probably shoot a mature buck with my bow if the opprotunity presented itself, and if your boy doesnt have a tag you can sign it down to him if you are able to harvest a buck.

Call Jake at Dons Sport Shop. I believe it is around $125 to $150 for the trigger and installation. My dad and I have timneys on all of our guns and love them. -
The .257 is SPF!

Great set! They look good mounted to! Holding them in person really gives you an idea of what the bull is!

Well my dad and I just got back late last night from a 10 day fly fishing trip to the high mountains of California! The weather was perfect with highs in the upper 60's and lows in the low 40's! We got to see some breathtaking scenery from the creeks, road and even backpacking into some high mountain lakes!

azcouesandelk replied to coueshunter's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Allen, Amanda, Keith and Chris I am very active with the AES and would also like to become active with the ADA. I plan on attending the annual meeting and will be at the banquet. If there is anything I can do to help out with the banquet please email or call me. -
I got the picture on my phone yesterday and about dropped my phone! The score I recieved said 138 with an average spread, but I do not know how accurate that is. A huge congrats to the guys that found that set it is definately a once in a lifetime set!

I will say that if you go around Mammoth, CA you will be within 30 miles of some dang good areas.
-
You know the ones that are up on the mountain

Thanks for the comments everybody! We setup camp and would just go out each day. All the streams and rivers were within 30 miles of camp so it made it easy.
-
Most of the places we fished were catch and release only, but we did hit a more popular stream one night to catch a couple for a good breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns and trout. Throughout the trip we both caught well over 100 trout and we kept 2 rainbows that were around 12 inches.
-
Thanks for the commetns guys! Doug there were a couple of creeks where you didnt need to wade which made it really nice, and we did fish mainly from the bank on a couple of the creeks. You can see that we fished those creeks mostly also since those were the top producers for big trout. I am not going to make it back for the fall spawn because of school, but my dad is going to try and get back there for the second and third week of September.
-
The fishing wasnt bad either! We caught alot of big trout both rainbows and browns, it seemed like the average trout was 17 inches.
-
I hope to see a bunch of you guys and gals up at this project. The AES has been doing this project for quite a few years and it has made a huge impact.
-
Mount it! I got my first bull 2 years ago and I had to get it mounted! It wasnt a huge bull but it just meant so much to me.
-
Very nice guys! I havent been to the san juan in about 3 years! Something special about catching 24 inch trout on size 22 midges!
-
