I am fimiliar with the unit since I have hunted javelina in that area for 3 years. I have only hunted the hills once though and I saw the whitetail then. Other then that I have only seen muley's on the flats.

The closest I have got a stalk on was just practice, but I got about 25 yards away. Averagley I think aobut 50 yards is what I can do with the right wind.

Anywhere around Pine should be good. I have seen some nice 5 by 5 elk in ther, but have not been able to see any nice 6 by 6 though. Also check the game and fish website. Good Luck.

I had an antlerless tag there 2 years ago and hunted the west side. If it weren't for the antlereless tag I would have been able to drop a beautiful 5 by 6 on that hunt. If I were you I would go down the 212 past the 282 and there are alot of aspen groves with stock tanks in that area. If you would rathere want to glass a little bit you will see a big meadow off to your left off the 212. That is were Igot my deer, and saw that big brute. There is a stock tank up there, lots of food, and they have all the shelter they will need withing about 100 yards so I would recomend that area. Good Luck.

That is really neat. I have seen elk do tha at Willow Springs before, but never a deer.

Just being curios. About how much is a shoulder mount for a buck that scores let's say about 105?
