I had the early muzz bull tag in 27 last year.. I saw turkeys everywhere I went in 27, both on all scouting trips and on the hunt. I saw a ton of them off of Red Hills rd off to the east back towards the blue. Also saw a mess of them off of middle mtn road back to the west. Good luck.

Yea buddy!! We're off in less than 72 hours to AFRICA once again! I am getting pumped! It's going to be a great trip with the 5 of us!! My list on this trip is: Either East Cape Kudu OR a Gemsbok Vaal Rhebok Blue Duiker Cape Grysbok Cape Bushbuck Mountain Reedbuck It's the start to a very good year of safaris. Back to Zimbabwe on Oct 7th for cape buffalo, spotted hyena, klipspringer, with the possibility of adding a sable or non-trophy elephant to the list!! I am really looking forward to it, Casey. You guys are in for a wonderful hunt. Just be forewarned, though. You stand a good chance of getting bit by the Africa bug.. Once bit, the only cure it to go back as often as possible. There's no place like it.

Casey Why piss gasoline on a fire? -
.308 is a great youth caliber. And it will kill anything on this continent with ease.

Pretty much sums it up for me about hunting in this state.

				Open Sites
Kilimanjaro replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I was waiting for you to catch that, Bill. I first thought the post was about hunting a dig site, as in maybe a marked archaeological site. My open sight rifles are limited to close range dangerous game.. nothing here in AZ. A javie hunt with an open sighted 30-30 or an open sighted old front-stuffer would be fun. Maybe a lion crouched up in a tree with an old antique lever gun. Maybe even a big San Carlos bear called into spitting range with an old 45-70. That'd be fun! -

Heck, Scott. Photoshop a baseball cap and a T-shirt on Gary Cooper and he'll look just like you. Bill Quimby If only I could have got the ladies back in college to say that, Bill!! The man had his way with the fairer sex for sure! Cooper was a helluva man... Was a huge fan of hunting British East Africa too. I would have enjoyed a nice gin in a sweaty glass around an acacia coaled sundowner with him. I'm sure he had plenty of stories to tell a guy!! -

				Student Walk Out
Kilimanjaro replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Most of the students who walked out don't want to see mama and pappi sent back to where they belong..and if they're under 18, EVEN THEY ARE US citizens, they too get a "vacation" and a good taste of their roots by getting to go with their parientes, courtesy of the State of AZ & the US Gov't. Maybe then my wife and all the others who work in the school districts can get their jobs back with all that freed up space and new found money saved. -
Bill and I sat down to fully comped lunch in the Foothills yesterday (manager said we were some entertaining customers! ) to BS about African hunting, past and present.. I had a great time listening to Bill tell his stories in person. He is a wealth of info for anyone who enjoys any and all things hunting. Oh yeah, got my book signed and got one for Casey too and had it signed by Bill too! Bill, it was a pleasure and as I said, as soon as we get back from Africa next month, count lunch on me.. I say we go next door next time. Who knows, maybe the "charisma" will work over there too!!

Grijalva is one of the biggest racists and biggots in this state.. I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on him if he were on fire. Anything he can use as a racial bias, you can bet your last dollar he will (and does). America (and AZ) should ban that waste of space and send him back to Mexico. He loves it SO much after all.. It'd be a win/win for all of us.

Brent You of anyone are MORE than qualified to comment on injured digits! Share some your pics.. It'll make him forget the pain in his real quick! Those finger and hand injuries suck.. I've done my fair share of ER time from years in a taxidermy studio.. flesh and razor blades and grinders dont mix.

Terry What make is the gun? Im in the market for a 1911..been looking at both Colt & Springfield 1911s. I may be interested.

The bleeding heart limp wrists at Humane Borders are freaking out about this.. God forbid that the state tries to right itself, but the masses of sympathizers in this state make it impossible to get anything done. You watch, this law will be overturned in no time. Some liberal titbaby will cry wolf and take this all the way to the Supreme Court.

Use the 1500 for one of those quick 1-800 divorce lawyers that advertise on late night TV. You can then get whatever gun you choose!

I was actually deer hunting in Nov. in the Tx hill country on a property with THOUSANDS of turkeys in it (hence the rifle in the pic).. I was sitting on top of a windmill platform watching down several senderos when a string of turkeys came out.. This one kinda stuck out from the rest of them! In TX, you can take birds in the fall as well as the spring, so I sent one downrange and got lucky. I've actually seen a few of these color phased turkeys in that area and 2 others on that same ranch.

I beat ya to that one, Amanda!! :P Awesome RT.. one of a kind for sure.. glad you had your camera handy! When I was in MT, I saw a few of those white snowy owls while out on the prairie after a cold front would come through the area. Beautiful birds.

Yep..that TB area (east and west of there especially) along the border is lawless. As a matter of coincidence, I was the 2nd man there at the ranch the day that black helo landed in the ranch's front lawn mentioned in the article. Pucker factor that day was a bit high.

Ive got Casey's right now.. I gonna give it a workover at long distances at LITTLE antelope in Africa in 2 1/2 weeks.. Casey's gonna wear out some monkeys and jackels while there with it too. If I like it (and I already do), I'm buying one when I get back and putting it on my 300WSM. I like the turrets WAY better than the B&C Leupold I have on it now. Much more precise and takes almost all the guesswork out.

	Congrats on the sheep permit!
