Holy mass nice buck big congrats.

My grampa always used to say you can get a real good look at um once their on the ground. He lacks the mass to go over 330 but that wouldn't have stopped me, cool video thanks for sharing.

That was my worst fear as well. They did stop their windows were down and I heard them say something about a deer. Don't think they ever saw me and at that point I didn't know the deer had crossed the road. Did find tire tracks though where they pulled off. Guess I just don't want to think that people are that unethical of course I cant prove that thats what happened

Let me first say that I am writing this threw my tears and disgust with myself. Tuesday at noon I blew an arrow all the way threw a two point at 44 yrds. down hill. The shot looked good to me. I waited 30 min. then went and checked the spot where he had been standing. No blood , Followed track for about 40 yrds. Found my arrow covered from tip to tip with dark red blood. So I think o no liver shot. Soon as I found the arrow I found blood. Good blood that was easy to follow. I really took my time trying not to bump that buck. Found five different spots where he stood and blood puddles the size of my hand. Buck going down hill but this is towards the road. Truck comes down the road stops, now remember I am concentrated on my deer and not the truck well the blood trail crosses the road and to my dismay goes up a steep hill. Did the truck scare the deer? Blood goes up for fifty yards then starts coming back down. Buck stops again, hand size puddle then all of a sudden nothing. Three hours on blood trail, another three griding, back the next morning at first light with help griding. I'm so bummed. A couple years ago I played out the same scene and the buck only went fifty yards and piled up. Did I miss the liver? Man these deer are tough.

I just hope your boys aren't to upset when their baby sister is a better shot than they are. That's the case at my house anyways, big congrats you love your boys like no other but there is something very special about a baby girl. My youngest girl just started school, spend all the time you can with her it goes by way to fast.

Sitting this long is torture so I keep looking at the cam pics!

good old rock salt

Took the whole fam damily in and checked the cam this a.m. Great way to spend a day had a blast can't wait for opening day!

My wife and I had just been married, we had planned on heading to vegas and stopped in mesa to spend the night. Well we she decides that she would rather go spend the week in the woods. I know lucky sob right. So the next day we drive to flagstaff and that night were out in 6b spot lighting elk in the rain. My brother is driving and were each sitting on a window seal and we both have light going half the night goes by and we don't see any bulls just cows and deer. Well my new bride is none to happy because she had never seen anything bigger than a raghorn. Ok so now it's the middle of the night driving from flag to pine the storm breaks off about upper lake mary the moon comes out and theres elk everywhere. She is sound a sleep and i come up on this big rasty cover in mud 6x6 in the middle of the road and i ease right up to about 10 yards from him and i give her a little shake and say baby theres your bull. She sits up and looks and almost wet her pants. God i'm an butt.

At least hunters putting up camera's and salt are walking out into the woods and not just running up and down the road. Unless you are disabled drive to your spot and get out there and hunt. If they want to crack down on something I would love to see them start with that. Sorry just my two cents but unless they can show a increase in success rates due to the use of salt, which I don't believe they can then why ban it?
