Early/Mid 1990's Ford Bronco: Any Feedback?

I had a string of them (5) between 1978 and 1994. All of them were 351's, except for one with a 400. Poor gas mileage, but they had enough grunt to pull travel trailers, and they had a back seat for the kids. Remember in those days, they just didn't make many trucks that offered a back seat, and none of them had a comfortable back seat. Broncos had a short wheelbase but full sized width which meant you could get most places, but you were going to scrape the sides a lot. When all the manufacturers started making 4-door pickups with short beds and SUV's with 4 doors, the old Broncos fell from favor. I moved on to 4-door pickups. In the SUV style, I'd favor a 4Runner now, but you won't have a lot of towing capability. The older Bronco's were carburated, my last one was fuel injected. The fuel injected version was more reliable for me.

    Wallow Fire

2 cousins in their mid-20's...I don't know if it makes much difference how much they are held accountable for. In their lifetimes, they probably wouldn't make a dent in one day's costs of fighting the fire and the damage it caused. Kudos to Coues7 on this forum. He accurately called this one a couple months ago,

    Some Mounts.......

Great mounts! I don't recall seeing green Ocotillo "branches" like you used in the last mule deer mount. Would you mind saying where you found the reproductions? Bob
  4. It has less than 3 boxes through it. The test target that it came with was sub MOA. I'm not that great a shooter, but I had a 5-shot group at 200 yards that was 3-1/2", which is pretty good for me. I'm working with someone on a trade now, so I think I'll withdraw this rifle from the open trading block.
  5. I have a stainless Weatherby Vanguard in .257 Weatherby that sits in a Bansner lightweight stock with Talley lightweight scope mounts. Stock is painted an olive/brown color, with silver and black webbing. I'm looking for a .300 WSM. Stainless is preferred. Tikka, Remington, Winchester, or a similar Weatherby would be considered. I just haven't shot the Weatherby much, and I'd like a caliber more suitable for elk. If you have any interest, let me know via a PM. I'm in the Phoenix area. Thanks, Bob

    New Hunter

Almost 9 pounds of potential there, and it's up to you and your wife and family to bring it out! It's a big responsibility, but it's also the most rewarding thing we can do on this earth. Best wishes to you and your wife and to the young lady who did the right thing.

A sad but yet inspirational story

Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. I've shared it with a number of people who would never see this website, and they have all been inspired by their goodness. Several have used the term "Angels" when describing the Stoddards. Bob

    Where to lOOk

"A few years ago there was a herd that got into my friends gated community on 56th St. & north of T-Bird." I wonder how they got the gate code and how they managed to type it in with their noses!

    Drew The Wrong Tag?

Based on the random number that was assigned to your application, they should be able to determine if you would have drawn your actual choices, and if you would have drawn your first or second choice, they will probably award a tag to you. Even if you wouldn't have drawn your actual choice, they should restore your bonus points to you if you turn in the erroneous tag.

    Looking for a nice Canoe

Kind of a long shot here, but I am receiving a new Sony 40" Bravia Flat Panel LCD HDTV 1080P as a service award from my Company, and don't really need it. I'd be interested in trading it for a nice canoe. If interested, let me know what you have. Thanks, Bob

    King of the Mountain Shoot

Ed, Not sure if you intended to post this again, but the K.O.M. shoot was last Saturday, and it was fun! My first opportunity to try my hand at Practical Pistol, and I can see why it's so popular. Bob

    Flying for scouting purposes

Yes, Don't get hung up on the special permit seasons. Just focus on the regular big game hunts. Is there an archery deer hunt on in your unit now? If so, you can't scout it by air, and it looks like there are no breaks between now and the start of your hunt. It seems to me that part is pretty clear.

    Flying for scouting purposes

I think the window of opportunity for aerial scouting for your early rifle bull tag is over. You can't locate wildlife from the air in a hunt unit with an open big game season, (or 48 hours before the opening of a season) Archery deer seasons run from Aug 21 - Sept 10. Archery elk seasons run from Sept 11 - Sept 24 Early rifle seasons open Sept 25. I'd suggest contacting AGFD to confirm.
