Looking for a fleshing board and knife
nateNAU replied to Couzer's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
If you dont find one here I would check f&t. Lot of good fur handling products. I have their fleshing beam that folds up against the wall and it has worked well. -
Looking to buy elk antlers in the flagstaff area. Mainly chalk and will pay better than an antler buyer. 1 anter or a pickup bed full.

Me too! My first time applying for wyoming and got a buck and 2 doe tags! Beyond excited.

For 11m cow I would prefer the first week. The cows get sharper as the rut progresses. The bulls get dumber. 11m will be better as the elk will be more vocal and easier to locate. PM me and I would be happy to share some spots. I will be out there helping a co-worker on the same hunt.
-
I would hands down hunt the second week. The rut in 7e seems to always be slow and weak. Last year on my father in laws hunt we spent the first 6 days without one bugle or seeing any branch antlered bulls and in years I've had the tag, I've had similar experiences.
-
I would love that. I live and hunt in 7e and would like to see them split. Would probably up the draw odds in 7e if they were.
-
It's been that way for years. Its 7e and 7w so it's really not too bad.

Boughten Boy I guess you are right.they never thought me that word at NAU. I guess I should ask for my money back.

The points................ that you bought.

Socialism? I would guess you failed civics. I am suggesting being able to spend what is yours. Sounds more like capitalism. I guess you would say I am fairly young at 32 but in my adult life I have seen draw odds in the unit I live in for early archery elk go down from 35% to 18% in under a decade. Something has to change.

All y'all mofos are arguing the wrong points. A strait point system (the kid with zero points draws a sheep tag) or a squared point system ( the geriatric dude who gets preference because he has been putting in since the civil war) is irrelevant if we have a bonus point surplus, which we have since more bps are created every year than are spent. There are only two solutions to that problem. 1. Pool bps. Allow people to pool all species bps and use them on any species they want. In a silent auction style people could use any of their bps towards any hunt. This would more than likely lead to over bp use and create a bp deficit. ( the out of state jo who has applied for elk, bighorn, deer and antelope for 20 years would burn all his points for an almost guaranteed chance at 1 of those tags.) I have suggested this before and it was like talking to the window lickers who ride the short bus. 2. Allow use of bps as currency. Allow bps to be used and spent on things other than draw odds. For example, something like 10 bps and your deer bag limit for deer goes up to 2. Or 20 bps to purchase a lifetime hunt/fish combo liscense. One way or another we need to get into a bp deficit or these problems will increase regardless if we square our points or not.

There is no chance this gun is shot out. I have been a gunsmith for 16 years working on ruger revolvers solely. I do minor work from action jobs all the way to 5 shot conversions and probably handle 5 -10 a day. That's 30-60 thousand in my career. I have never seen one shot out. Anyone who wants to buy this revolver should rest assured knowing that this gun will out last you.

I sat a tank Monday morning in the snow and at sunup it was -1 and when my dad picked me up at noon it was -3. Was all the fun I could stand.

Hunted the east side this year. Passed on a 135 type buck opening day and a giant fork right at Sun down. Nothing but spikes and forks after that. Hunted hard and put a lot of miles on the boots and a lot if time behind the glass. I think I kind of screwed myself opening morning. I though it was a good idea to go in on the mid pinion/juniper level of the old warm fire and hike up thinking I would get away from others while still hunting the burn. Well I was away from others and was able to glass a ton of country but unfortunately I think I was still to low. Only saw one fork way up in the burn and heard probably 15 people take shots higher up in the burn off the 67. After that I decided to hunt the top and saw hundreds of deer but nothing mature. Was able to glass up a sleeping coyote in the top of the burn so I don't think there was anything wrong with my glassing.

Vortex's Lifetime Transferable Warranty Is The Real Deal...
nateNAU replied to eddielasvegas's topic in The Campfire
My kaibab 15s lost the gas seal in one tube and the color was off. When I got them back they fixed that problem, completely cleaned them and replaced all the glass and a few other things. They also did all that on a time crunch and got them back to me before a hunt I had coming up. I am very impressed with vortex and will keep buying their products. -
Casey's and Bix both do a great job. I made the switch to Bix from Casey's a few years ago though after meeting Dan and his wife. Two of the nicest people you will ever meet. I always feel very appreciated when I go to Bix.
